During his visit to Tatarstan, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vasily Osmakov took part in the official opening ceremony of the Haier hi-tech industrial park with its Russia’s first washing machine factory.

The next item in his agenda was a visit to the Kama Industrial Park Master to attend the ceremony dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the park.

KIP Master was established in 2004 with an aim of creating infrastructure for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, primarily operating in the manufacturing sector.

In the afternoon, Vasily Osmakov visited a number of industrial enterprises in Tatarstan: the KAMAZ cab frame factory (a joint venture between KAMAZ and Daimler) and the Yelabuga Automobile Plant.

At the end of his visit, the Deputy Minister arrived at the SEZ Alabuga, where he inspected the activities of some industrial enterprises, such as August-Alabuga, Kastamonu Integrated Wood Industry, Bars Technology, Coşkunöz-Alabuga, and others.

Associate Professor of the Theoretical Basics of Thermal Technology Department at the Heat Power Engineering Institute (KSPEU) Olga Solovyova won Initiative Research by Young Scientists grant of the Russian Science Foundation (RSF).

The RSF grant on the topic “Developing a Software Package for Calculating the Optimal Parameters of Highly Porous and Granular Filters for Filter Selection in a Specific Technology Cycle” is part of the presidential programme of research projects implemented by leading scientists, including young ones.

The project involves the creation of models for highly porous cellular or granular filters with an increased particle deposition efficiency and a lower value of the aerodynamic drag coefficient, the determination of the optimal filter geometry with due account for the process specifics, the making of recommendations on the selection and use of the filter model, and the creation of a software package implemented as a web application.

Despite the fact that the grant is individual, the project manager notes that work on all projects is carried out in a team: “For me, there is no concept of scientific work alone in the area in which we work. Someone builds computer models, someone carries out calculations, someone sets tasks; we all write articles and speak at conferences. And everything is always discussed together”.

Dear current and retired employees of the republic’s mining industry!

On behalf of the Government of Tatarstan, I congratulate you on your professional holiday, Miners’ Day!

Formation of mining as a basic sector of industry dates back to several centuries ago. During this time, the industry experienced strong development impetuses. Much attention is currently paid to the safety and improvement of the mining process: latter-day equipment is widely used, advanced technologies are being introduced. However, one thing remained unchanged at all times: the selfless work of miners.

In the republic, the uninterrupted supply of strategic raw materials to enterprises producing building materials - gypsum and dry gypsum mixes – largely depends on the performance of miners.

Your skills, responsibility, and commitment to your work deserve deep respect!

I sincerely congratulate all industry’s workers on their holiday and wish them optimism, prosperity and good health at all times!

Minister Albert Karimov
