On 24 April 2012, the Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov made a speech on “Opportunities for suppliers in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan” as part of the Conference of Suppliers for Ford-Sollers Joint Venture on the subject of “Localisation of automotive components in Russia” which was held in Yelabuga.

On 23 April 2012, SEZ Alabuga hosted an opening ceremony of the Conference of Suppliers for Ford-Sollers Joint Venture on the subject of “Localisation of automotive components in Russia”. Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov is making a speech on “Opportunities for suppliers in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan”.

On 19 April 2012, an opening of Inter-University Job Vacancy Fair Spring 2012 took place at Kazan National Research Technical University KNITU-KAI. The following events are on the agenda: job vacancy fair of major republic’s enterprises, organisations and companies for the students and alumni of Kazan and Tatarstan institutions; presentations of leading enterprises and organisations accompanied with advertisements; round-table discussions on “Comprehensive Employment Monitoring of Alumni: Issues for Implementation”

On 18 April 2012, Tatarstan delegation headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Kaluga Region with a working visit. The delegation comprises heads of a number of Tatarstan ministries and establishments (Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing, Ministry of Education and Science, Investment Development Agency, etc.).

On 18 April 2012, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Gulnara Akhmadeyeva took part in the training seminar held in OAO KamAZ for heads of Tatarstan municipalities and devoted to the introduction of Lean Technologies. Within the seminar programme, the heads of municipalities studied the principles of introducing the Lean Production by the example of the KamAZ production system. In the General Management offices, they visited Accounting Department and Economic Security Department of KamAZ, in the automotive facilities, main assembly conveyor, industrial practice classroom, Kaizen classroom, warehouses and factory workshops.

On 18 April 2012, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov chaired the meeting of the Council for Implementing the Legislation on Languages in the Republic of Tatarstan under the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ildar Mingaleyev spoke on the topic of the “Role of Tatarstan Representative Offices in Meeting Educational Needs of Tatars in the Russian regions”.

On 17 April 2012, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited OAO KNIAT. The head of the republic studied the achievements of the resident companies of the Innovation-Technology Centre KNIAT industrial technopark and held a meeting on the issues of the technopark development. Tatarstan President inspected the exhibition of ITC-KNIAT residents. Technopark currently hosts 73 residents, with their turnover in 2011 totalling RUR 700 million; the site employs over 1200 people.

On 17 April, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted a meeting with the delegation of International Economic Consortium (IEC, USA). The meeting was attended by Ildar Mingaleev, the Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Liudmila Kazieva, the Chairman of the Board, IEC and Eric Haydock, the President of IEC.
During the meeting the presentation was made on the industrial potential of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Government of the Russian Federation donated 41 KamAZ trucks to the UN World Food Programme (WFP) in Afghanistan to support deliveries to the remote areas of the country. The total value of the property donated consisting of 40 KamAZ trucks and one maintenance vehicle amounts to US$ 2.7 million. Load capacity of each KamAZ is 14 tonnes. Owing to the Russia’s gift, the WFP truck fleet in Afghanistan will increase to 174 trucks.

On 11 April 2012 the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted a meeting of the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Gulnara Akhmadeeva with the director of Japanese Center from Nizhny Novgorod Mr. Mitihiro Hamano.

During the meeting in the framework of the Protocol on Cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Japanese Center from Nizhny Novgorod the parties discussed the issues related to the development of further cooperation in various fields.
