On 12 May 2012 the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade staff participated in the event dubbed “Nationwide Tree Planting Day”. The Ministry veterans of the industry, who were presented valuable gifts, participated in the planting of tree seedlings in the territory of Laishevskiy District.

the Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov and the Director General of OAO KamAZ Sergey Kogogin have made it to the top ten of the “Industrial Elite of Russia – 100 best industrial managers 2012” rating, held for the second time in Russia within the non-profit project of the Process Management portal.

On 10 May 2012 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the opening of the 2nd phase of the SEZ Alabuga project in the territory of the SEZ Alabuga and initiation of customs procedure of the free custom zone. The 2nd phase covers 1000 hectares, on which the management company is building an engineering infrastructure. In this area the construction of fences is completed making it possible to set off the procedure of the free custom zone.

Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov extended his congratulations to the World War Two and Labor Veterans on the Victory Day: “We are giving deep bow and eternal gratitude to you, heroes of the World War Two and Labor Veterans! I wish you, dear veterans, sound health, longevity, happiness and prosperity to you, your family members and dear ones, stability and confidence in the future! Congratulations on the Victory Day!”

In the Elabuga Branch of KNITU KAI the signing of the quadripartite agreement on cooperation between ElAZ, subsidiary of the Technical University, municipal department of education and secondary school No 9 took place. The document provides joint work in the field of career-oriented training for the students of the ElAZ sponsored school with the purpose of their further entering and studying at the university on relevant specialties with further focus on work at the enterprise.

OAO Radiopribor held an annual workmanship contest “Best Professional 2012” among young factory workers. The “Best Professional 2012” was contended by young workers under 35, pre-trained and selected in the workshops based on the following competitive categories: miller, turner, machine assembly fitter, process engineer.

On 29 April 2012, Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov delivered a presentation of economic, industrial and investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan at the Kazan Helicopter Plant within the framework of visit of the Chinese delegation headed by Vice-Prime Minister of the Chinese State Council Li Keqiang to the Republic of Tatarstan. From Russia, the meeting was attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, Acting Director General of Kazan Helicopter Plant Igor Bugakov, and from China it was attended by Vice-Prime Minister Li Keqiang, heads of major Chinese provinces, representatives of business community of the People's Republic of China.

On 26 April, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted a meeting dedicated to the “Issues of the organisation of the work of personnel departments and labour safety at enterprises”. The meeting was attended by more than 90 representatives of 50 enterprises in the field of manufacturing industry, trade, consumer service, representatives of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, Tatarstan Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Protection, Tatarstan Ministry of Education and Science, expert organisations, and employers' associations.

On 27 April, Holding company Russian Helicopters, a member of the United Industrial Corporation Oboronprom and a leading global designer and manufacturer of helicopters, announced that OAO Kazan Helicopter Plant has successfully completed the first demonstration of the Ansat multifunctional civil helicopter with a hydro-mechanical flight control system.

On 26 April 2012, within the framework of the visit of Aktobe District delegation to the Republic of Tatarstan, headed by Governor of Aktobe District Archimed Muhambetov, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov delivered a presentation of economic, industrial and investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Minister stressed that the Republic of Tatarstan was one of the most economically developed regions of Russia. The main indicators of socio-economic development refer Tatarstan to top ten Russian leading regions. The gross regional product of Tatarstan in 2011 amounted to 1,250 billion rubles (42.5 billion U.S. dollars), or 104.6% y-o-y.
