On 6 October 2012, Turkey hosted the Turkey-Tatarstan Business Forum on the cooperation in the field of automotive industry and automotive components production with the participation of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Acting Minister of Economy of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Sever, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov, and over 200 representatives of the Turkish and Tatarstan business communities.
The Forum comprised the signing of bilateral agreements on the cooperation development in the sphere of automotive industry:
• Agreement between Ford-Sollers and Coskunoz Holding (supplier of pressure equipment and manufacturer of moulded parts for vehicles);
• Letter of Intent on cooperation between OAO KamAZ and Turkey-based Coskunoz Holding.
The programme of the Forum also included target meetings with the participation of the representatives of the Tatarstan and Turkish businesses in the field of automotive components production.

The Turkey-Tatarstan Business Forum on the cooperation in the field of automotive industry and automotive components production is planned to be held in Bursa (the Republic of Turkey) on 6 October 2012 with the participation of President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Sever, Governor of Bursa Sahabettin Harput, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in Turkey Vladimir Ivanovsky, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov, Director General of OAO Special Economic Zones Oleg Kostin, and Chairman of the Turkish Exporters Assembly Mehmet Buyukeksi.
The mission of the Turkey-Tatarstan Business Forum in the field of automotive industry and automotive components production in Bursa is to promote the trust-based dialogue between the Tatarstan and Turkish business communities and to discuss the opportunities for new projects and initiatives in the field of the development of the Tatarstan cluster of automotive components.
During the Turkey-Tatarstan Forum, it is planned to sign bilateral agreements on the cooperation and to hold target meetings with the participation of the representatives of the Tatarstan and Turkish business communities.
On 4 October 2012, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, Gulnara Akhmadeyeva, held a meeting with the delegation from the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia headed by Deputy Director of the Dusseldorf Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Gerhard Eschenbaum.
Deputy Minister Gulnara Akhmadeyeva made a presentation of the republic’s industrial and investment potential.
The meeting also comprised the presentation of the German companies and the discussion of issues of bilateral cooperation including the sphere of mechanical engineering, food industry, chemicals, and petrochemicals.
On 4 October 2012, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan held the meeting with its long-service employees and the republic’s honoured workers in the sphere of trade and consumer services. The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov emphasised that “It’s become a heart-warming tradition to hold meetings with the long-service employees, whose diligence and expertise made it possible to successfully tackle one of the most important social issues – to satisfy the needs of our Republic’s people in goods and services”.

On 3 October 2012, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ravil Zaripov congratulated the management and personnel of OOO Bureniye (the Almetyevsk Drilling Works Plant) of OOO UK Tatburneft with the 60th Anniversary since its foundation.
OAO Tatneft has developed and is successfully implementing the programme of innovation development until 2015.
Pursuing the revelation and development of the professionals’ creative potential, a system was created to monitor the results of intellectual activities, including the planning and implementation of R&D activities, labour-saving and inventive activities, introduction of developments to the production, appraisal and analysis of the results, as well as the accounting and commercialisation of intangible assets.

On 1 October 2012, Ford Sollers Joint Venture Company celebrates its first anniversary. Three months after Ford Sollers JV started its operation activities, its Yelabuga plant initiated the assembly of Ford Transit. In the mid-year, the Yelabuga plant launched the production of Ford S-MAX, Ford Galaxy, Ford Kuga, and Ford Explorer. In September 2012, the plant in Tatarstan manufactured over 10,000 Ford cars.

Tatarstan is one of the country’s leaders in the aviation-related activities. Tatarstan centres over 20 aircraft enterprises. They include six companies producing aircraft machinery and components for rotor-driven machines, over 15 sectoral institutes involved in the design and development of units, components, and end products for the aircraft industry. The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade, Ravil Zaripov, gave an interview to Rossiyskaya Gazeta concerning the Tatarstan aircraft industry of today, as well as the prospects of its development.
