Yevgeny Vladimirov (Almetyevsk), a welder in Neftegaz Enterprise and the winner of the Republic’s Professional Skills Contest held in August 2012 in Nizhnekamsk, ranked 3rd in the All-Russian Contest “The Best Professional 2012” in the Best Welder category (October 2012, Ufa).

Work staffs of industrial enterprises took an active part in the large-scale Green Record Planting Project in Kazan. The project of the large-scale tree planting was worked out at the organizational level; it comprised the finding of the best sites for planting and choice of plant species, as well as the design of projects to plant trees in certain streets.

On 24 October 2012, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan held the Seminar & Conference entitled “The Development of Corporate Management Institutes as a Factor to Enhance the Investment Attractiveness of the Tatarstan Enterprises”. The Seminar brought together corporate secretaries of the management boards from over 30 joint companies and State representatives in the joint-stock companies. The Seminar heard the speeches of the Igor Belikov (Moscow), Manager of the Russian Institute of Directors and Member of the Experts Board at the Russian Federal Financial Markets Service; Marat Sharafutdinov and Vitaly Utkin, representatives of Kredo Company rendering consulting services in corporate management to leading joint-stock companies; and Marat Bineyev, Professional Attorney representing the State interests in joint-stock companies and General Director of the Kazan Plant of Chemical Reagents.

On 23 to 24 October 2012, Kazan will host the Days of Quality in the Republic of Tatarstan to be held under the auspices of the Tatarstan Government. These events are earmarked for the celebration of the World Quality Day and the European Week of Quality.
The Interregional Research and Applied Conference “Quality and the World Trade Organisation” will be held on 23 October, while the round-table discussion under the same name will take pace the next day, on 24 October.
The events are aimed at the constructive discussion of the current issues in the field of quality and management under the current conditions of Russia’s joining the WTO.

On 24 October 2012, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan holds the International Conference entitled “Convergence between the EU and Russian Systems of Technical Regulations”. The Conference is organised jointly with the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Committee for Technical Regulation, Standardisation and Conformity Assessment, Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology, FBU “Regional Centre for Standardisation, Metrology, and Certification in the Republic of Tatarstan”, and under the auspices of the Tatarstan Government.
The Conference is to be attended by top officials and senior officers from The Eurasian Economic Commission, federal executive bodies, and Russia’s largest companies and business associations. The Conference will also bring together representatives of the European Commission, UN Economic Commission, top executives from European Committee for Standardisation and European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardisation, EU countries’ bodies for standardisation, and leading foreign experts.

On 19 October 2012, the interdepartmental working group session was held for studying the investment projects of the organisations that are involved in the restructuring and upgrading of their activities. The task force studied investment projects of OAO Kazan Heat Network Company, OAO Kazan Plant of Synthetic Rubbers, OOO Agrofirma Nurkeyevo, Management of ZAO Agroforce Group, OAO Naberezhnochelninsky Elevator, OOO Chelny-Broiler, OOO FinAgroTrade, and OOO Elektrotransport on the advanced personnel training.
The projects under study are compliant with the concept of the long-term programme for introducing lean production technologies into all spheres of the real sector of the economy.

On 11 October 2012, Kazan hosted the Economic Forum “Thuringia in Tatarstan” attended by Minister of Economy, Labour, and Technology of the Federal State of Thuringia (Germany) Mr. Matthias Machnig and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov. The Forum brought together top officials from the Ministries and Departments of Tatarstan and Thuringia and representatives of the Tatarstan enterprises and 45 Germany-based companies.

On 9 October 2012, the conference room of Kazanskaya Yarmarka Business Centre hosted the seminar entitled “Requirements of Acting Regulatory Documents in Public Catering Sector to Service Quality and Safety Assurance. Procedure of Catering Services Certification” for top managers of public catering outlets. The seminar was chaired by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Rashat Fattakhov

On 11 October 2012, Kazan hosts the Economic Forum “Thuringia in Tatarstan” attended by Minister of Economy, Labour, and Technology of the Federal State of Thuringia (Germany) Mr. Matthias Machnig and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov. The Forum will bring together top officials from the Ministries and Departments of Tatarstan and Thuringia and representatives of the Tatarstan enterprises and 45 Germany-based companies.
The mission of the Forum is to promote the development and consolidation of bilateral trade and economic relations, as well as to boost the attraction of foreign investment to the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Programme of the Business Forum comprises the presentations of social, economic, and investment potentials of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Federal State of Thuringia, presentation of SEZ Alabuga, speeches by the representatives of the Germany-based companies which successfully cooperate with the Tatarstan enterprises, and networking activities among Tatarstan and Thuringia business communities.

On 8 October 2012, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov congratulated the President and Chief Designer of Antonov State Design Bureau (Ukraine) Dmitry Kiva with his 70th anniversary.
Ravil Zaripov emphasised the outstanding personal contribution made by Dmitry Kiva to enhance the economic potential and to develop the aircraft industry in Ukraine, as well as to develop the collaboration between the Russian and Ukrainian aircraft industries, and the intense cooperation between GK Antonov and Gorbunov Kazan Aircraft Production Association in the implementation of the joint aircraft production projects.
