On 13 March 2013, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan held a meeting between the republic’s manufacturers and France-based retailer Leroy Merlin (seller of constructing, decorating, and arranging products for home, country houses, and garden).
The meeting was attended by Rashat Fattakhov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan; Marc Bayon de Noyer, Supply-Chain, Logistic, Product & Purchasing Director at OOO Leroy Merlin Russia; Philippe Mougeot, Director Group Products (Purchasing) at OOO Leroy Merlin Russia; and representatives from over 40 republic’s enterprises producing construction materials, millwork products, tools, floor coverings, bathroom fixtures, and other products for construction and repair of residential and country premises.
During the meeting, the representatives of the French firm made the presentation of Leroy Merlin and gave information to the republic’s manufacturers on the conditions and regulations of making contracts for the supply of products to the trade chain.

On 12 March 2013, under the working visit programme of the Kazakhstan delegation headed by Nurlan Nogaev, Akim of the West Kazakhstan Province, to the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan hosted a Business Forum with the participation of the Tatarstan and West Kazakhstan business groups. From Tatarstan, the Forum was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Tatarstan State Council Aleksandr Gusev, Aide to Tatarstan President for International Issues Radik Gimatdinov ,Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Rashat Fattakhov, and representatives of more than 30 Tatarstan enterprises; from the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Forum was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kazakhstan Republic to the Russian Federation Galim Orazbakov and representatives of 14 Kazakhstan enterprises (machine-building industry, education, energy, construction, chemical, and services sectors). The key target of the Business Forum is to enhance the cooperation between Tatarstan and Kazakhstan by establishing and developing bilateral mutually beneficial contacts.

On 10 to 11 March 2013, Tatarstan was visited by the Rostov Oblast delegation headed by Rostov Oblast Governor Vasiliy Golubev. On 10 March, the Rostov Oblast delegation visited the new terminal 1A of the Kazan International Airport, Universiade sports facilities (Gymnastics Centre, Universiade Village, Tennis Academy), made the tour of the Kazan Underground. On 11 March, the Rostov Oblast delegation will visit IT Park and Kazan (Volga) Federal University. During the visit, the meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov is also planned.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov congratulated all women with the International Women’s Day and wished them health, love, peace, and spiritual harmony.

On 6 March 2013 in SEZ Alabuga, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov chaired a meeting with the participants of the International Investment Forum entitled “Conditions and Prospects to Create Facilities for Metal-Working Equipment Production in the Russian Federation” held in Moscow the day before.
The meeting was attended by Gennady Yemelyanov, Head of the Yelabuga Municipal District; Timur Shigivaleyev, Director General of SEZ Alabuga; representatives of leading mechanical engineering enterprises, republic’s technical higher educational establishments, and top executives from foreign companies and mechanical engineering associations such as ŠKODA MACHINE TOOL, TAJMAC-ZPS, TOS VARNSDORF, TOSHULIN (Czech Republic), WFL Millturn Technologies GmbH & Co. KG (Austria), EMAG GmbH, Hermle AG (Germany), and Coskunoz (Turkey).
The meeting discussed the issues of creating the machine-tool building cluster in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Within their working visit to Tatarstan, the foreign participants made a tour of OOO P-D Tatneft-Alabuga Steklovolokno, OOO Ford-Sollers Alabuga, and Machine Tool Plant of OAO PO ElAZ.

On 5 March 2013, the Moscow State Technological University “Stankin” held the Investment Forum “Conditions and Prospects to Create Facilities for Metal-Working Equipment Production in the Russian Federation”. The Forum was attended by Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan; Denis Manturov, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade; Ravil Zaripov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade; representatives of Russia’s regional administrations (Rostov, Sverdlovsk and Ulyanovsk regions) and 5 national sectoral associations (The German Engineering Federation (VDMA), the Italian Machine Tools, Robots and Automation Manufacturers’ Association, the Swiss Association of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Industries (Swissmem), Japan Machine Tool Manufacturers Association, and Association of Engineering Technology of the Czech Republic). From the Republic of Tatarstan, the Forum was also attended by the representatives of the Kazan State Technical University (KSTU), Kazan National Research Technical University – KAI, and SEZ Alabuga.

On 2 March 2013, OAO Tupolev and OAO Gorbunov Kazan Aircraft Production Association (KAPO) held a joint meeting of their employees. The meeting was attended by Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan; Ravil Zaripov, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade; Mikhail Pogosyan, President of United Aircraft Corporation; Alexander Bobryshev, President of OAO Tupolev; representatives of OAO KAPO, OAO Tupolev, and mass media.
In his speech, Mikhail Pogosyan noted that OAO Tupolev and OAO KAPO are expected to be merged in 2013 into one structure within the United Aircraft Corporation.
He also mentioned that the decision to merge OAO Tupolev and OAO KAPO is a part of the joint strategy aimed at uniting the resources of aircraft developers and manufacturers, as well as at optimising the structure of the industry.

The Forum will be attended by Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan; Denis Manturov, the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade; Ravil Zaripov, the Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade; representatives of Sverdlovsk and Ulyanovsk regions; and representatives of the leading foreign machine-tool building enterprises.
The mission of the Forum is to inform the representatives of the leading foreign machine- tool building enterprises on the prospects to develop the Russian market of the metal-working equipment and on their potential Russian partners, the largest manufacturers and buyers of the metal-working equipment.
