On 6 July 2012, the day of ceremonial opening of 27 World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan, employees of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade welcomed the University Games torchbearers in the Kazan streets.
The Flame Relay of the 27 World Summer Universiade started on 12 July 2012 from France. The torch lighting ceremony was held at Paris-Sorbonne University that hosted the first World University Games in 1923.
The Torch Relay ended up with the ceremony of lightning the Universiade Cauldron at Kazan Arena Stadium.Mi-8MTV and Ansat helicopters produced by OAO Kazan Helicopters, a member of the Russian Helicopters Holding, will be assuring security during the 27 World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan.
The ambulance helicopter equipped with two special modules is designed to deliver four patients and two doctors to the Republic’s Clinical Hospital of Kazan. Mi-8MTV equipped with water discharge device capable of carrying 3 tonnes of water is planned to be used to patrol sports facilities located on the bank of the Kazanka River.OAO State Institute of Applied Optics, a member of Shvabe Holding since 2010 and Russia’s major optical centre, is presenting its new thermal imagers at the International Military and Naval Salon being held in Saint-Petersburg.
The products presented at the Exhibition are unified thermal imagers, which are capable of observing, detecting, and tracking various targets at night time and in low visibility conditions, intended for the use both in various weapon systems and for tasks of industrial and environmental monitoring as well.On 4 July 2013, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov attended the meeting between the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to the Russian Federation John Sloan.
The meeting dealt with the issues of further bilateral cooperation.
