On 3 August 2013, Tyumen held the 13th Federal Sabantuy. The celebrations were attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Governor of the Tyumen Region Vladimir Yakushev, Deputy Minister of Tatarstan Industry and Trade Rashat Fattakhov, heads of ministries, agencies, leading enterprises of the republic, and 380 representatives of the Tatar public organisations from 64 regions of Russia. The Tatarstan President and the Governor of the Tyumen Region granted letters of acknowledgment to activists of the Tatar public organisations. Participants of Sabantui saw a theatrical performance, visited improvised Tatar huts and outbuildings, and took part in the traditional festivities. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that “Sabantuy is the most important holiday for the Tatars. It is being held in 23 countries and 53 regions of Russia. It is a wonderful event that features the distinctiveness of Russia”.
On 2 August 2013, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted the meeting of the Board of Directors of OAO KNIAT attended by Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Gulnara Akhmadeyeva.
The meeting included the election of the Chair of KNIAT Board of Directors and dealt with the issues of the enterprise’s current activities and promising areas for its development.
Gulnara Akhmadeyeva, Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, was elected the Chair of KNIAT Board of Directors.
Between 2 and 4 August 2013, Yelabuga is hosting the All-Russian Spasskaya Fair bringing together over 750 craftsmen from Russia’s regions, as well as from the CIS and non-CIS countries.
The Spasskaya Fair comprises national and agricultural farmsteads while “Craftsmen’s Town” has organised souvenir-making master classes for all comers. The Bell-Ringing Festival will be held as a part of the Fair’s programme.
On 30 July 2013, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov had a meeting with the delegation from the Republic of Turkey, headed by Mustafa Koluman, Chairman of the Board of Koluman Holding. The meeting discussed issues of Tatarstan-Turkish cooperation in the field of automotive engineering and automotive component production. During its working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan, the Turkish delegation visited KAMAZ, YelAZ, Alabuga Special Economic Zone, Kama Industrial Park Master, and Mercedes Benz Truck Vostok.
On 30 July 2013, the Kazan State Power Engineering University (KGEU) hosted a meeting of the Coordinating Council for Science and Education Cluster in the field of power engineering chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov. The meeting was attended by officials from KGEU, Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Ministry of Education and Science of Tatarstan, executives of major energy companies, representatives of ministries and agencies, professional colleges of the republic.
On 26 July 2013, within the framework of the working visit of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to Naberezhnye Chelny, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov visited the site of the Development Industrial Park currently under construction in the city. Resident companies presented projects for the production of furniture, building materials, electrical equipment, truck superstructures, etc. The total amount of planned investments from residents to the site is RUB 600 million. The first foundations in the industrial park are expected to be laid in August this year.
On 26 July 2013, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, Director General of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin, and Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Vasil Shaykhraziev attended the official ceremony dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the KAMAZ Master Team. The Head of the Republic awarded the staff of the legendary team that has significantly contributed to the promotion of Tatarstan image in the international arena. Its history boasts many brilliant victories: the team took part in twenty-two Dakar rallies winning eleven of them.
On 26 July 2013, a meeting of the organising committee for preparing the visit of the delegation from the Republic of Tatarstan to the Krasnodar Region to take part in the 12th International Investment Forum Sochi 2013 was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov. The meeting was attended by members of the Organising Committee, top officials of relevant ministries and agencies of the Republic of Tatarstan, representatives of the Tatarstan Association of Enterprises and Entrepreneurs and leading educational establishments of the republic. The meeting discussed a draft concept of the Tatarstan exhibition at the 12th International Investment Forum Sochi 2013.
On 25 July 2013, the presentation of the House of Recreational Science and Technology took place in Kazan in the DK Mekhovschikov Recreation Centre. This is the Tatarstan’s first interactive centre of science and technology for children and young people, where one, in an entertaining interactive format, can acquaint oneself with many physical phenomena and functioning principles of various mechanisms. The museum is intended for broad audience (of both children and adults), with the target audience age being 6 to 12 years. The centre currently has 30 exhibits. Museum visitors are suggested acquaintance with interactive exhibits; they can participate in interesting experiments. The visitors can also enjoy scientific and entertainment programmes and technology workshops. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Gulnara Akhmadeyeva emphasizes that “this kind of popularisation of science and technology achievements and, as a consequence, the engineering professions, would undoubtedly attract the younger generation, focus the youth to the technical content of their vocational training and further career choices”.
On 22 July 2013, Bugulma Electric Pump Plant (BENZ) held an opening ceremony of a new facility for the production of electric cables for oil industry. The ceremony was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, top executives of BENZ, Veles Capital Investment Group, Tatneft, US-based Weatherford, and other dignitaries. The cost of the project is RUB 200 million; payback period, 3 years; its annual output is projected at 720 km of cables. The facility is scheduled to attain the projected capacity in 2014.
