On 5 February 2014, a Joint Final Collegium of Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade and Tatarstan Ministry of Economy was held with the participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov.
Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov made a report on the results of Tatarstan industry and consumer market development and the switchover to industry innovation development in 2013.
Closing remarks were made by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. The republic’s President delivered government awards to executives of industry enterprises.
Within their working trip to Tatarstan, the officials of Tatarstan representative offices in Russia’s regions, CIS and non-CIS countries attended OEZ Alabuga innovative industrial sites, Kama Industrial Park Master, and Technopolis Himgrad with a view to promote the republic’s products and attract investment in Tatarstan economy and to thoroughly study the projects of Innopolis and Kazan Smart City. Within the framework of their programme in Tatarstan, the delegation visited republic’s universities, met executives of educational institutions and attended the ‘Electronic Tatarstan’ seminar. Tatarstan representative offices’ officials will have a tour of Bolgar and Sviyazhsk.

On 30 January 2014, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin had a meeting with KAMAZ Master team. The meeting was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and OAO KAMAZ CEO Sergey Kogogin. Vladimir Putin congratulated the team of the famous racers headed by Vladimir Chagin with the victory in Rally Dakar Argentina-Bolivia-Chile 2014.
The 35th Dakar Rally raid was off in Rosario (Argentina) and qualified for 13 stages at the territory of Argentina, Bolivia and Chile finished in Valparaiso (Chile). Dakar 2014 total length for trucks was 9188 kilometres.
On 27 January 2014, the Board of Supervisors of the Academician Pyotr Kirpichnikov Boarding Lyceum for Gifted Children with Advanced Learning of Chemistry held the meeting chaired by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov. The meeting was attended by Tatarstan Deputy Ministers of Industry and Trade Gulnara Akhmadeyeva and Khamza Bagmanov, Head of Zelenodolsk Administration Alexander Tygin, executives of Kazan National Research University of Technology and major enterprises of Tatarstan oil, gas, and chemical sectors.
Following the results of the meeting, the Board of Supervisors approved the Minutes of the Meeting and confirmed its Key Action Plan.
On 24 January 2014, Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers held the ceremony of awarding the winners and nominees of Tatarstan Government prizes of the Republic’s Competition for Quality and Republic’s Competition for the Best Journalistic Work in Popularisation of Blue-Collar and Engineering Jobs.
The awarding ceremony was attended by Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, Tatarstan officials of ministries and agencies, executives of enterprises and organisations, members of Tatarstan mass media.
Monetary prizes, certificates and memorial signs to journalistic competition prize winners were awarded by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov and OAO Kazan Helicopters CEO, Russian Helicopters Deputy CEO Vadim Ligay.
On 21 January 2014, Naberezhnye Chelny hosted the opening ceremony of the new engineering building of ZF-KAMA, а joint venture between KAMAZ and Germany-based Zahnrad Fabrik. The ceremony was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Rostec State Corporation CEO Sergey Chemezov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, KAMAZ CEO Sergey Kogogin, Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Vasil Shaykhraziev, and ZF Friedrichshafen AG Chairman Stefan Sommer.
The opening of the new building with a total floor space of 22,000 square metres allows the joint venture to extend its range of localised gearbox models and their parts (to date, localisation level reaches 47%), as well as to launch own thermal processes to increase the output of the products manufactured by the enterprise.
On 21 January 2014, Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade held the meeting with Lithuania’s business community. During the meeting, the presentation of Tatarstan industrial and investment potential was made; the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in different areas, including logistics, trade and investment activities.
Within the programme of a visit, Lithuania delegation will attend technopolis Himgrad, IT-Park, OEZ Alabuga, OAO TANEKO and OAO TAIF-NK.
On 16 January 2014, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, while delivering a speech at the plenary meeting “Doing business in Russia 2.0” within the framework of the Gaidar Forum in Moscow noted that Tatarstan executives have been paying much attention to improve business climate in the region and create conditions to attract investment. The Gaidar Forum held in Moscow was also attended by Tatarstan Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, Tatarstan officials of ministries and agencies and executives of leading industrial enterprises. The moderator of the plenary meeting was the Chairman of the Russia’s State Duma Sergey Naryshkin.
During the discussion, the participants discussed the World Bank’s rating of the countries by conditions for doing business. The speaker of the State Duma emphasised the importance of the Doing Business rating, because it serves a as guide by foreign investors when choosing the country to invest money in.
On 11 January 2014, Kazan hosted the ceremonial event dedicated to awarding the power engineers who took part in the preparations to and provision of the uninterrupted power supply for Universiade 2013. Government awards were delivered to the awardees by Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov.
In the period of preparing and holding the Universiade, all Russia’s power facilities associated with Kazan power supply centre functioned as normal, and power supply delivered in full.
