On 2 December 2016, the Sberbank Corporate University launched the educational seminar entitled “Modern Management Technologies and Their Use in Public Administration Reform”.
The seminar was organised at the request of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov for the heads of public authorities, heads of municipalities and other senior employees in the Republic of Tatarstan.
The training seminar was held on 2-4 December 2016 on the premises of the Sberbank Corporate University (Moskovskaya Oblast). The main objective of the event was to familiarise the heads of public authorities in the region with the best international and domestic management practices.

Following the results of the All-Russian Exporter of the Year 2015 contest, Tatarstan was announced the winner as the “Leader in Exports among the Regions of the Russian Federation”. The contest was jointly held by the Russian Exports Centre (REC) and the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. The main criterion for the participants was the development of non-oil exports in 2015. The contest identified the most successful organisations working in the non-oil sector of the economy. On 30 November 2016, Moscow saw the ceremony of awarding the winners of the Exporter of the Year 2015 contest.
The Best Russian Exporter Award was established in 1998. Since 2008, the contest is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation with a view of supporting exports of industrial products, facilitating domestic exports and creating incentive mechanisms.
In 2015, the name of the contest and the participant selection criteria were changed: the "Exporter of the Year" title was awarded to various exporting entities, including large exporters, small and medium-sized exports businesses, credit institutions, and regions of the Russian Federation.
On 1 December 2016, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Albert Karimov chaired a meeting to consider the issues of training the Tatarstan representatives to the Young Professionals Regional Championship (WorldSkills Russia) to be held in Kazan in early February 2017. The head of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade stressed the importance of the Young Professionals Regional Championship based on the WorldSkills standards. He said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the republic’s industrial enterprises, sectoral educational institutions and specialised centres of competence, is currently working on a number of areas, including preparation of the contestants to 18 core competencies taken in charge by the Ministry (sheet metal processing, industrial robotics, maintenance of aircraft equipment, mechatronics, electronics, CNC machine milling and turning, welding technology, etc.); preparation of experts for a number of competencies; provision of equipment and supplies to specialised competence centres based on colleges (technical schools, universities) for the training process under the WorldSkills standards; and equipping the competitive workplaces in accordance with the regional championship competencies.
On 1 December 2016, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Albert Karimov held a meeting, where participants discussed topical issues of innovative development of enterprises in Tatarstan as a basis for improving the competitiveness of the republic's economy. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Tatarstan Association of Enterprises and Industrialists, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Tatarstan Ministry of Economy.
On 1 December 2016, within the framework of his working visit to Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a business meeting with top executives of the Krasnoe & Beloe Company. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects of mutual cooperation; in particular, they consider the opportunity of selling alcoholic beverages from Tatarstan in the stores of Krasnoe & Beloe chain in Russian regions.
Today, the Krasnoe & Beloe Company is the largest alcoholic beverage distributing chain in Russia, it owns about 3800 stores. Last year, the company ranked seventh in the rating of the Russia's fastest growing companies.

On 30 November 2016, the France-Tatarstan business forum was held within the framework of the working visit of the Tatarstan delegation headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
The forum was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Vice-President of the Association of the French Business Community (MEDEF) Yves-Thibault de Silguy, representatives of the business communities of Tatarstan and France.
Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Albert Karimov delivered a presentation of the trade, economic and industrial potential of the Republic of Tatarstan. In particular, he noted that Tatarstan is one of the most economically developed regions of Russia, which has strong industrial production facilities, favourable investment climate, and high scientific potential.
Albert Karimov also informed the participants of the business forum about the current status and promising areas of cooperation between Tatarstan and France. As he noted, companies with French capital are also operating in the Republic of Tatarstan, with Schneider Electric, Air Liquide, Saint-Gobain, Leroy Merlin, Decathlon, and Auchan being among them.
He emphasized that there is a considerable potential for the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation, and expressed confidence that the Business Forum will contribute to the further fruitful collaboration.
On 30 November 2016, Paris hosted the France-Tatarstan business forum held within the framework of the working visit of the Tatarstan delegation headed by Tatarstan President.
The forum was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Vice-President of the Association of the French Business Community (MEDEF) Yves-Thibault de Silguy, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, representatives of the Tatarstan delegation and of the French business community.
In his welcoming speech, Rustam Minnikhanov confirmed the preparedness to render support to French businesses in the Republic of Tatarstan. He also noted that there is a positive experience of French companies in Tatarstan.
During the forum, the presentations were delivered by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, top officials of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, Tatarstan Ministry of Health, SEZ Innopolis, and others.
In particular, Albert Karimov said that the foreign trade turnover between Tatarstan and France totalled EUR 158 million euros by the end of 2015, and there is the belief that the interaction can be increased many times over.
At the forum, French businesspersons were able to ask questions to the speakers regarding the enterprise development, opening of new production facilities, and the localisation of production in Tatarstan.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov invited representatives of the business community of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes to visit Tatarstan. The working group to prepare the visit will be created according to the results of negotiations between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Vice President of the Regional Council of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Philippe Meunier. The meeting was held on 30 November 2016 in Paris within the working visit of Tatarstan delegation headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to France.
In pursuance of the meeting, parties made a decision to create a working group that will specify areas for cooperation and specific steps in the implementation of joint projects. From the Republic of Tatarstan, the working group will comprise Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in France Iskander Yusupov.

On 29 November 2016, Kazan hosted Tatarstan-Saxony Economic Forum. It was organised within the visit of the Saxony delegation to Tatarstan.
The forum was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister President of Saxony Stanislaw Tillich, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, officials and business communities from Tatarstan and Saxony.
Prior to the forum, main sites for investments in the republic were presented to the guests from Germany.
