Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited today the new building of the central administrative and customer service offices of Tatenergosbyt (110v, Pavlyukhin St., Kazan). He was accompanied by Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Alexey Sergeyev, Aide to Tatarstan President Albert Nafigin, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin, and others.

 

During the visit, comments were given by Tatenergosbyt Director Rifnur Suleymanov. He said that the central administrative and customer service offices were previously situated in rented premises. Today, the company has an impressive client base, serving more than 850,000 individuals and 33,000 legal entities in the territory of Tatarstan.

 

The new building has all conditions both for the effective work of the staff and for the convenience of the customers. More than 70 units include subscriber halls, work rooms, meeting rooms, conference halls, etc. A total of 285 employees are located there.

Today, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Russian Federation Mohamad Wahid Supriyadi. The meeting took place at the House of Tatarstan Government and was also attended by Acting Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Almaz Khusainov.

 

Welcoming the guest, Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his condolences to the Republic of Indonesia in connection with the earthquake on the Island of Sumatra, which killed more than 100 people.

 

Indonesia is one of the Russia's most important trade and economic partners among the ASEAN countries, said the President of Tatarstan. Rustam Minnikhanov invited representatives of Indonesia to take part in the international economic Kazansummit, which is scheduled for May 18-20, 2017.

 

Then Rustam Minnikhanov and Mohamad Wahid Supriyadi discussed the current progress of cooperation between Indonesia and Tatarstan. In particular, the Ambassador recalled that Tatarstan will host the Days of Indonesia in August 2017. He also expressed his hope that a direct air service will be opened between Tatarstan and Indonesia, which, of course, would result in increasing the tourist flow.

Today, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to the Russian Federation Park Ro-Byug.  The meeting took place at the House of Tatarstan Government and was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Information and Communication of the Republic of Tatarstan Roman Shaikhutdinov, Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina, Tatarstan Minister of Transport and Roads Lenar Safin, Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Valeyev, and others.

 

The Korean delegation arrived to Tatarstan with a two-day visit. Today, Ambassador Park Ro-Byug and numerous representatives of small and medium-sized South Korean businesses will take part in the Eurasian Partnership in Technology and Innovation seminar to be held in the Korston Hotel & Mall in Kazan.

 

Welcoming the guests, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the Ambassador for his active interest in Tatarstan. The Republic of Korea is one of the largest world’s economies and has an impressive industrial, technological and scientific potential, said Tatarstan President. Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan has a good experience of cooperation with South Korean partners. He recalled his visit to Seoul in June this year, during which the official meetings with representatives of the country's leadership were held and the Tatarstan-Korean business forum was organised.

 

Then the representatives of the South Korean business community spoke about their companies and specified the most attractive destinations for business development in Tatarstan.

At the initiative of the United Nations, December 9 is declared the International Anti-Corruption Day. On this day in 2003, the United Nations Convention against Corruption (adopted earlier by the UN General Assembly on 1 November 2003) was opened for signature at the High-level Political Conference in Merida, Mexico. Russia was among the first countries to sign the Convention.

 

The document binds signatory states to declare bribery, embezzlement of budget funds and laundering of the corruption proceeds a criminal offence. According to one of the provisions of the Convention, it is necessary to return the funds to the country from which they were received as a result of corruption.

 

Corruption is a complex social, economic and political phenomenon that somehow affects all countries, regardless of their level of development. It slows down the economic development of society and undermines the foundations of the state.

On 8 December 2016, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted the awarding ceremony of the winners of the zonal round of the 2nd Republic’s Festival Contest “National Trademark”. The event was attended by top officials of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, executives of GUP RT National Trademark, members of the jury and contest winners.

 

Note that on 22-23 October 2016, the city of Naberezhnye Chelny saw the zonal round of the 2nd Republic’s Festival Contest for the producers of dairy, meat, bakery and confectionery products, industrial commodities.

 

The organisers of the Contest Festival were GUP RT National Trademark, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Executive Committee of Naberezhnye Chelny, the CCI of Naberezhnye Chelny and Trans-Kama Region. The aim of the festival is to select and promote the best samples of high-quality organic food products manufactured in the Republic of Tatarstan under the “National Trademark” brand.

 

The competition attracted more than 35 participant companies. 

On 8 December 2016, a plenary session of the Business Partners of Tatarstan Forum was held with the participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

 

The Business Partners of Tatarstan Forum is being held from 7 to 9 December 2016. The Forum is attended by about 700 businesspersons of Tatar descent from 66 Russian regions and 28 foreign countries.

 

During the session, the entrepreneurs shared their experiences and challenges, told how Tatar national traditions and customs are supported in the Russian regions. A separate presentation was dedicated to the history of the Tatar philanthropists in pre-revolutionary Russia.

 

Rustam Minnikhanov presented the awards of the Republic of Tatarstan and Tatarstan Presidential Letters of Appreciation to businesspersons maintaining active business relations with Tatarstan.

On 7 December 2016, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted the meeting between Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and the Czech Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Jiří Koliba. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current progress of affairs and prospects of bilateral cooperation.

 

Minister Albert Karimov emphasised that the Czech Republic is one of the main business partners of the Republic of Tatarstan. He also noted that there is a considerable potential for the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between Tatarstan and the Czech Republic. According to him, the promising areas of trade and economic, investment, scientific, and technology cooperation between Tatarstan and the Czech Republic include the further development of cooperation relations in the field of mechanical engineering, automotive industry and petrochemicals; health care, production of medical goods and pharmaceuticals, as well as joint research and educational projects. 

On 7 December 2016, the Kazan City Hall hosted the Tatarstan-Turkish Business Forum within the framework of the working visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yıldırım to Tatarstan. Its main topic was the warming of relations between the countries and prospects of their development in the economic dimension.

 

Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina made presentations of the industrial and investment potential of Tatarstan to the guests from Turkey.

 

During his speech, Albert Karimov stressed that Turkey ranks first in the number of joint venture companies in Tatarstan, exceeding 280; nearly every fifth joint venture in the republic is of Turkish origin.

 

Prime Minister of Turkey Binali Yıldırım said in his speech that the Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci is a very frequent guest in Tatarstan, and expressed his confidence that the trade output will continue to grow. Minister of Economy of Turkey Nihat Zeybekci noted that Turkey's investments in Tatarstan's economy are of strategic nature and announced joint projects in the fields of health care and agriculture.

 

In his speech, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the “cooldown period” in relations is over and it is possible now to proceed to active work. The Tatarstan President said that Turkey is the leading partner of the republic and each joint project is treated very seriously.

On 7 December 2016, Kazan hosted the opening of the 16th International Exhibition “Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking. Kazan”.

 

Tatarstan has a good platform for seeking solutions to current tasks in the mechanical engineering sector. This was announced at the opening ceremony of the International Exhibition by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

 

The opening ceremony was also attended by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Assistant to Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov, First Deputy Minister of Industry of Belarus Gennady Svidersky, heads of republic’s authorities, and representatives of large mechanical engineering enterprises from Russia, Tatarstan, and foreign countries.

 

The exhibition features 166 companies from 13 countries and is accompanied by a comprehensive business programme, during which the participants will discuss the prospects for the development of the mechanical engineering sector.

 

Today, at the Coordination Council of the Tatarstan’s Mechanical Engineering Enterprises, which took place on the eve of the exhibition, an Agreement on Cooperation was signed between Jihostroj a.s. (Czech Republic) and OOO TD OKA (Tatarstan). Also, in the presence of the Tatarstan President, a Memorandum on Cooperation was signed in the field of education and science between the Kazan State Power Engineering University and the Erfurt Educational Centre (Germany).

Kazan”, the Kazanskaya Yarmarka exhibition centre hosted the 6th Session of the Coordination Council of the Tatarstan’s Mechanical Engineering Enterprises. The session was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Assistant to Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov, First Deputy Minister of Industry of Belarus Gennady Svidersky, heads of republic’s authorities, and representatives of large mechanical engineering enterprises from Russia and Tatarstan.

 

At the meeting, Tatarstan President stressed that the industry face today a number of important tasks; in particular, the provision of closer interaction between institutions of higher education and enterprises. “For the development of the mechanical engineering sphere, we need to unite all efforts, including the educational component, the manufacturing sector, and the government authorities. We need to work together. The level of development of the whole country depends on the level of development of its machine-building complex”, said Rustam Minnikhanov.
