Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan saw the signing of the Agreement on participation of manufacturers of medical instruments and medical equipment in the activities of the industrial cluster in the Republic of Tatarstan. A total of 18 companies joined the Agreement. The cluster aims at strengthening ties between companies in the medical industry, promoting cooperation for tackling common problems and implementing joint import substitution projects. The cluster has been created within the framework of the sub-programme “Improving Labour Productivity at Enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2015-2020”. An objective of the sub-programme for 2016 is the creation and development of industrial clusters based on the enterprises of the republic in accordance with the Resolution of the Russian Government No. 779 of July 31, 2015.

The power sector of the republic plays an important role in ensuring social and economic stability of Tatarstan. The well-being, competitiveness of the manufacturing industry in the republic largely depends on the efficiency of the power sector. I am sure that your professionalism, scientific and technical potential, competent managerial decisions and commitment will help bring the successful future for the industry and the introduction of the latest achievements into the production activities. On behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, I extend my thanks and appreciation to current and retired employees of the power industry for their conscientious and dedicated work for the good of the republic. Today, the Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin chaired a meeting of the Coordinating Council for Compatriots’ Affairs under the President of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Minister Denis Valeyev. Farid Mukhametshin stressed that the work with compatriots has been delegated to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan. A new member was incorporated into the Coordination Council for the Compatriots’ Affairs, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Denis Valeyev, approved as Secretary of the Council. A report on the progress of the State Programme of the Republic of Tatarstan “Rendering Assistance to Voluntary Resettlement to the Russian Federation of Compatriots Living Abroad, 2016 - 2018” was delivered at the meeting by Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Vasil Shaykhraziev.

Today, the Kazanskaya Yarmarka exhibition centre hosted the Republic’s Polymer Day in the communication platform format. The event is aimed at the media coverage and advocacy of industrial production and processing of polymers, as well as the encouragement of production of higher value-added commodities and their promotion in domestic and foreign markets. The event was attended by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, representatives of major Russian manufacturers and processors of polymers located in Tatarstan, as well as leading Tatarstan scientists in the field of polymer chemistry, representatives of small and medium-sized businesses involved in polymer processing, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and many others. The event was organised by the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, Tatneftekhiminvest Holding, and Kazanskaya Yarmarka. In the future, the event will be scheduled on a regular basis. The Republic of Tatarstan is one of the three most investment attractive regions of Russia.

Within the framework of their working visit to China, the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan visited today the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA), one of the China’s leading special economic zones. The main purpose of visiting the TEDA was to discuss the prospects for cooperation and creation of a joint venture.

 

The Tatarstan delegation comprises Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina, Deputy Director of the Tatarstan Presidential Office External Relations Department Marat Gatin, CEO of Special Economic Zone Alabuga Timur Shagivaleyev, and Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Valeyev. The delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan was accompanied by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to China Andrey Denisov, General Co-Director of the Russian-Chinese Investment Fund Hu Bin, and managing partners of the Russian and Chinese offices of the PriceWaterhouseCoopers auditor company.

Today, PAO KAMAZ held the first International Olympiad in lean manufacturing. It is worth noting that in 2015 Tatarstan, on the basis of PAO KAMAZ, successfully organised the All-Russian Olympiad in lean manufacturing among students and graduates of higher educational institutions of Tatarstan, Udmurtia, and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

 

The Olympiad has showed high preparedness of its participants and has demonstrated a successful experience of teaching lean technologies in higher educational institutions of Russia and thus highlighted the need to disseminate the lean technology practices among the students both in the country and abroad.

 

This year, KAMAZ already organised an international-level Olympiad, which was held under the auspices and with the direct participation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan.

 

In addition to further dissemination of expertise in the field of Lean technology, a quite pragmatic goal is also pursued: the formation of a personnel reserve base of trained professionals in the field of lean manufacturing.

Today, the Turkish Presidential Complex in Ankara saw the meeting between the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

 

The Tatarstan President thanked the President of Turkey for the opportunity of meeting him and, on behalf of the Tatarstan people, expressed his condolences and support to the Turkish people in connection with the terrorist attack in Istanbul on December 10.

 

Turkey is one of the leading partners of Tatarstan in the field of trade, economic and investment cooperation. The republic is a home for 10 successfully working Turkish plants, while the city of Naberezhnye Chelny hosts a multifunctional residential, retail, and office complex Sunrise City, which is being built at the expense of the Turkish-based investor Hayat Holding (the project is being implemented by Compass Engineering). Underway are another numerous joint projects in energy, engineering, healthcare, construction, agriculture, and other spheres.

 

Tatarstan is interested in Turkish businesses to continue developing their projects in the republic and is prepared to provide a comprehensive support towards this end. The Tatarstan President also expressed his gratitude to the Turkish President for his attention to the life of the Tatar community in Turkey.

During his working visit to Turkey, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Chairman of the Hayat Holding Board Ahmet Yahya Kiğılı and a member of the Board, Vice-President of Kastamonu Entegre Onur Güven.

 

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current progress of Hayat Holding companies in ​​the territory of SEZ Alabuga and the prospects for their development. Rustam Minnikhanov thanked top executives of the companies for their assistance in the development of cooperation with Turkish businesses. He said that the Republic of Tatarstan currently hosts 10 factories with Turkish investment, including two companies of Hayat Holding that are residents of the SEZ Alabuga: Kastamonu Integrated Wood Industry and Hayat Kimya.

 

The Turkish side also thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for supporting the enterprises operating in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan and asked to assist them in addressing the issues of transportation logistics for being given access to the railway infrastructure. In addition, Hayat Holding Chairman Ahmet Yahya Kiğılı and Kastamonu Entegre Vice-President Onur Güven said that today holding companies need annually up to 1.2 million tonnes of wood as raw materials. Today, businesses are purchasing half the necessary amount of wood in Tatarstan and would like to completely solve this problem by means of raw material supplies from the region.

Today, Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov opened the Turkish-Tatarstan Business Forum in Ankara. From the Tatarstan delegation, the forum was attended by Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Valeyev, representatives of mechanical engineering, petrochemical sectors, and other executives.

 

Turkey is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan in the field of trade, economic and investment cooperation. Tatarstan is accounted for one-fifth of aggregate Turkish investment in Russia (US$ 2 billion from US$ 10 billion).

 

The Tatarstan President expressed his confidence that Turkish investors should be interested in the sites of SEZ Alabuga and SEZ Innopolis, the Territory of Outstripping Social and Economic Development in Naberezhnye Chelny, InnoKam production cluster, Sviyazhsk Interregional Multimodal Logistics Centre, and construction of Moscow-Kazan high-speed rail and the Europe-West China international transport corridor.

 

The plenary meeting of the Turkey-Tatarstan Business Forum has ended with the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation between KBS Corporation (Republic of Turkey) and the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Tatarstan Ministry of Economy and the Gebze Organized Industrial Zone, and the Scientific Cooperation Agreement between the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences and the Council for Scientific and Technology Research of Turkey (TÜBİTAK).
