On 25 January 2017, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov had a meeting with the members of the PromAktiv educational module under the Republic’s Talent Pool Project. The meeting was moderated by Advisor to the Chairman of Tatarstan Youth Government for Industry and Commerce Diana Radchenko, who also heads the PromAktiv module. The Minister shared his story of personal success, talked about important leadership skills, and answered questions from module members.
The Republic’s Talent Pool Project is being implemented since 2009, with the annual coverage of the project application campaign of more than 1,500 people.
The Talent Pool is a unique youth project that has established itself as a pipeline of highly efficient public figures, civil servants, and employees of the companies in Tatarstan. In 2017, participants of the Talent Pool Project were divided into four specialised modules, including the PromAktiv module aimed at supporting and developing initiatives of young people employed by enterprises and organisations in the Republic of Tatarstan.
On 25 January 2017, a meeting has held between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov and Deputy Chairman of Khabarovsk Krai Government Dmitry Volkov, who is also responsible for the integrated development of the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The main purpose of this visit is the exchange of Tatarstan’s best practices in attracting investors, development of industrial sites, and interaction with municipalities.
During the meeting, the participants discussed promising areas of cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Khabarovsk Krai. Albert Karimov and Dmitry Volkov noted that there is a considerable potential for the development of cooperation between the regions.
The delegation from the Khabarovsk Krai is on a working visit to Tatarstan from January 23 to January 27. In accordance with their programme, they visited IT Park, Technopark Idea, Simulation Training Centre at the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology, and AO Himgrad.
The Tatarstan Regional WorldSkills Competition 2017 to be held on the republic’s grounds from February 1 to February 3 will include a new competence, industrial design. Young professionals will analyse market proposals, make sketches, and print out the 3D-printer models of computer tables. The host venue for this WorldSkills competition in Tatarstan will be the Kazan College of Technology. Today, its laboratory brought together participants of the future competition.
The regional competition of skilled trades will form the backbone of the WorldSkills Tatarstan Team, which will represent the republic on the national level this spring, and then, perhaps, at the world competition. Among the competencies are road workers and young EMERCOM experts, physicians and jewellers, bakers and designers – all those who raises the prestige of working trades today with their high-quality work. There are a total of 79 competencies in the republic’s competition. In Tatarstan, the preparations for each area entered the final straight. It will be recalled that Kazan will be the host venue for the final WorldSkills Competition in 2019.

Today, the Tatarstan House of Government hosted a meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and President of Boeing Russia & CIS Sergey Kravchenko. The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.
The participants to the meeting discussed issues of further cooperation. Rustam Minnikhanov, in particular, noted that members of the Tatarstan delegation and he personally visited the two largest Boeing facilities to study the activities of these plants and the principles allowing them to work to maximum effect.
Within the framework of his working trip to Tatarstan, Sergey Kravchenko will visit the innovative town of Innopolis to review other investment projects that are underway in the republic.
President of Boeing Russia & CIS Sergey Kravchenko delivered today a lecture entitled “Effective Management of Modernisation and Innovation. Boeing Lead Development System”.
The event took place in the Meeting Hall of the House of Tatarstan Government and was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, as well as representatives of the Office of Tatarstan President, the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers, and others.
The Republic of Tatarstan and the Boeing Company have built up a great story of collaboration, said Rustam Minnikhanov, and cooperation will be continued.
During the lecture, President of Boeing Russia & CIS Sergey Kravchenko briefed about the history of the company and its achievements. In his speech, he dwelled upon three subjects: management of modernisation, innovation management, and personnel management and leadership training.

Today, the Kazan City Hall hosted the award ceremony for the winners of the Republic’s Contest “Best Goods and Services of the Republic of Tatarstan” 2016 and the All-Russian Contest “100 Best Goods of the Russian Federation” 2016.
The award ceremony was attended by Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, as well as heads of ministries and departments, representatives of enterprises from various industries, institutions of health care and culture, and Tatarstan’s masters of arts and crafts.
A total of 447 goods and services from 203 companies and organisations were participated in the republic’s competition in 2016. Based on the results of the expert committees, 83 products and services won the prizes of the Best Goods and Services of Tatarstan Contest in 2016, 142 were awarded the 1st class diplomas, and 166 were awarded the 2nd class diplomas.
It is worth adding that the winners of the contest, among other benefits, are granted an opportunity of marking their products with “The Best Goods of the Republic of Tatarstan” logo. This logo is a guarantee of quality to potential consumers of Tatarstan-made products.
On 24 January 2017, the Kazan Town Hall will see the official awarding ceremony of the Republic’s Contest “Best Goods and Services of the Republic of Tatarstan” and the All-Russian Contest “100 Best Goods of the Russian Federation” 2016 to be held by the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade jointly with the Tatarstan Centre for Standardisation, Metrology, and Certification and the Republic’s Agency for Press and Mass Communications Tatmedia. The ceremony will be attended by the Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Best Goods and Services Organising Committee Albert Karimov stressed that the mission of the annual contest is encouraging the companies in the republic to improve the quality and competitive ability of their products and services. As he said, the Contest is an effective tool in promoting products and services of republic’s manufacturers both to the domestic and to foreign markets.
Today, the Tatarstan House of Government hosted a meeting of the Board of OAO Tatneftekhiminvest Holding held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.
In his speech, Director General of Tatneftekhiminvest Holding Rafinat Yarullin noted that the major petrochemical enterprises of Tatarstan increased their output by 4.4 per cent in 2016. Their aggregate revenues exceeded RUR 954 billion, up by 5 per cent.
The meeting of Tatneftekhiminvest Holding Board also heard cooperation proposals from the Agency for Technological Development, the ETI MADEN I.G.M. of Turkey (delivery of boron compounds), the Kamsky Cable Plant, and the 3A Engineering from Yekaterinburg (manufacturer of filters for industrial wastewater treatment systems).
Today, the Republic of Tatarstan was visited by Russian Minister of Defence Sergey Shoygu. At the airport, he was met by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
Within his visit, the high-ranking guest inspected manufacturing facilities of the Gorbunov Kazan Aviation Plant. During the inspection, the company's management reported to the Minister on the implementation of the government defence orders, in particular, on the construction of Tu-214 of various modifications for the Russian Ministry of Defence. In addition, the Defence Minister examined the course of preparing the facilities for the production of the new aircraft, Tu-160M2.
It is worth noting that the Kazan Aviation Plant should perform in 2017 two contracts to renew the equipment for the Tu-160 manufacturing. It is expected that the aircraft will be equipped with a new set of avionics and aircraft weapons, and its full-scale production will begin approximately in 2023.
Today, on January 18, the first meeting of the working group for the implementation of the wind power station construction project in Tatarstan was held under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, with participation of the major republic’s energy companies, such as Tatenergo, Setevaya Kompaniya, TGC-16, and KER-Holding
.
During the meeting, participants discussed the prospects for locating wind turbines in the territory of Tatarstan, necessary organisational and technical actions towards the formulation of the Project Roadmap, as well as some related issues.
The successful implementation of the project would ensure the growth of the Tatarstan’s GRP as to electricity generated in the republic, with a corresponding increase in the added value and the taxable base.
