On 1 February, the Board of the Tatarstan Association of Enterprises and Industrialists (TAEI) held its extended meeting. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Aide to Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov and was chaired by TAEI President Aleksandr Lavrentiev. The following issues were discussed: results of TAEI in 2016 and its action plan for 2017; approval of the 2016 financial and economic activity report and estimates for expenditure in 2017; joint collegium of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, Tatarstan Ministry of Economy with the participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the manufacturing industry’s results in 2016 and tasks for 2017; election of delegates to the Congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
The participants raised the issues concerning the expansion of sales markets, mastering of new products, government's defence procurements, development of the Russian machine-tool industry, State support for production and sales of domestic products, coordination of training, enhancing the prestige of white-collar and blue-collar jobs.
Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Russian Federation Qazi M. Khalilullah.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in the industrial, trade, economic, scientific, and cultural spheres. In particular, promising areas of cooperation were specified in such sectors as mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, petrochemical industry, aircraft and helicopters, and others. In addition, the parties exchanged views on developments in Pakistani-Russian relations; within the framework of the meeting, the details of the scheduled visit by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to the Punjab Province were also discussed.
In the first half of the day, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov also had a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Russian Federation.
The Project and Investment Management Department of PAO KAMAZ (part of the Rostec Corporation) summed up the implementation of youth projects.
Last year, teams from the company’s divisions successfully completed 12 projects. Budget of RUB 1.5 million allocated for this purpose was fully implemented. Most of the ideas were born at the production site: proposals of young workers and specialists were aimed at increasing the equipment efficiency. Several projects allow improving the organisation of the work process, bettering working conditions, and enhancing the performance.
According to preliminary calculations, the total economic benefit of youth projects amount to over RUB 42 million. Apart from additional funds, young people gained teamwork experience and were highly commended by the leadership. Funding for 2017 will amount to two million Roubles.
Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov took part in the visit of Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to the Kirov Oblast, during which a meeting was held on the development of production facilities for the organisations of the defence industry complex to fulfil the Russia’s State arms programmes.
During the meeting, Dmitry Medvedev said that even in the relatively difficult macroeconomic conditions, the production capacities of the defence industry complex are developing increasingly. In addition, Dmitry Medvedev noted that according to the preliminary results of 2016, the increase in the rate of production is expected to be over 10%.
“We have embarked on preparations for the development programme of the defence industry complex for the period until 2025. Of course, this programme is related to the State arms programme. This correlation must be respected, as before. It is necessary to find the financing for the entire period. We have planned the money for the next few years, they are available in the budget and this will not be changed”, - said the head of the Russian Government.
Pursuant to the Tatarstan Presidential Order No. PR-333 dated 22.10.2016 following the results of the visit to the Republic of Belarus, a working group has been established for addressing the issues of renovation and maintenance of the tram fleet in the Republic of Tatarstan.
In order to discuss the issue of creating a joint venture between UKH Belkommunmash (Republic of Belarus) and OOO Elektrotransport (Naberezhnye Chelny) for upgrading and overhaul of tramcars, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade held a meeting of the working group on 1 February 2017, that was attended by representatives of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Tatarstan Ministry of Transport and Roads, the executive committees of the municipalities of Naberezhnye Chelny and Nizhnekamsk, municipal services operators, as well as Belarus-based Belkommunmash.
On January 31, a staff conference of TANECO was held, during which the results of the company’s production activities and the conditions for implementing the Collective Agreement 2016 were summed up, and tasks for 2017 were scheduled. The event was attended by deputy of Tatarstan State Council and Director General of AO Tatneft Nail Maganov, Chairman of Tatarstan Trade Unions Federation Tatyana Vodopiyanova, Aide to Tatarstan President Rinat Sabirov, Chairman of Tatneft Trade Union Committee Gumar Yarullin, and Head of Nizhnekamsk Municipal District Aidar Metshin.
A report on the company’s results in 2016 was delivered by Deputy Director General of TANECO for Economics and Finance Vladimir Fedotov. He noted that during the reporting period more than 8.7 million tonnes of crude oil were processed. In general, the processing depth was 84.7 per cent, the output of light petroleum products, 77.7 per cent.
Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a meeting between Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Valeyev and representatives of the Kazakhstan delegation led by Head of Foreign Relations and Tourism Dept. of Aktobe Region’s Akimat Kenzhekhanuly Ermek.
During the meeting, the parties touched upon the issue of signing the Agreement between the Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation) and the Aktobe Region (Republic of Kazakhstan). Besides, they discussed the topic of further mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of engineering, agriculture, and chemicals, as well as the opportunity of arranging a visit of Tatarstan business community representatives to the Aktobe Region.
For reference: Aktobe Region is a major industrial region of Kazakhstan. The basis of its industrial sector are mining and chemical industries, ferrous metallurgy.
KAMAZ (part of the Rostec Corporation) summed up the year in the field of invention and innovation.
According to the Bureau for Patents, Licenses and Rationalisation of the KAMAZ Scientific and Technical Centre of the company, a total of 10 patents was obtained in 2016 for inventions, of which three Eurasian ones (for the first time ever), 44 utility model patents, and one industrial design patent. One computer programme was registered as a copyright-protected item. Eleven certificates were received in 2016 for trademarks registered in Russia and abroad.
In addition, eight applications for inventions were sent by KAMAZ to the main country’s patent office in the past year, 60 applications for utility models, three for industrial design, and one for a computer program. Five applications were also filed for registration of trademarks within the Russian Federation, and some other applications, for registration of trademarks abroad.
As can be seen from the above, the protection of intellectual property by KAMAZ remains one of its priorities.

On January 30, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a meeting with a delegation of the France-based Evolen headed by its Director General Mr. Gérard Momplot.
During the talks, the sides discussed prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation in the oil and gas industry; in particular, they consider the opportunities of implementing joint projects in in the petrochemical sector of Tatarstan.
The cooperation between France and Tatarstan is developing at an accelerating pace. At the end of 2015, the foreign trade turnover between Tatarstan and France amounted to EUR 158 million. Tatarstan hosted the subsidiaries of many French companies like Air Liquide, Schneider Electric, Leroy Merlin, Decathlon, Auchan, etc.

The regular meeting of the AO Tatenergosbyt Board of Directors was held today under the chairmanship of Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Alexey Sergeyev. The meeting took place at the Tatarstan House of Government.
In 2016, AO Tatenergosbyt achieved the following results: the volume of electricity sales to consumers totalled 18.4 billion kW∙h for the amount of RUR 53.2 billion. The customer base for 12 months increased from 837,220 to 850,767 individuals and from 33,305 to 33,950 legal entities.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the preparedness of the Tatarstan’s guaranteeing supplier to the upcoming changes in the legislation for the sales organisations.
The Board of Directors approved the proposed budget of AO Tatenergosbyt for 2017, supported the steps taken by the company management and wished success in their activities and the development of the last resort supplier.
