On May 25, Belarussian Prime Minister Andrey Kobyakov, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, studied the development of enterprises in the Technopolis Himgrad and the Kazanorgsintez.

During his visit to the Technopolis Himgrad, the high-ranking guest was shown the production sites of the industrial park residents. The head of the Belarusian Government was also told about the activities of the Regional Biotechnology Engineering Centre of Tatarstan, which opened in Technopolis Himgrad in 2016. The Centre is working to create integrated engineering solutions for the development and production of biotechnological products for the agricultural sector.

The Prime Minister of Belarus also visited the Kazanorgsintez. It is the largest producer of polymers and copolymers of ethylene, a leader in the chemical industry of the Russian Federation, which has strategic importance for the development of the economy of the Republic of Tatarstan and is part of the TAIF Group. The company produces ethylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, polyethylene pipes, bisphenol, phenol, acetone, ethylene glycols, ethanolamines, and other products of organic synthesis.

In addition, Andrey Kobyakov was demonstrated the capabilities of the Kazan Arena, the first football stadium in Russia built to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

On May 25, Zelenodolsk Shipyard was visited by Head of the Republic of Ingushetia Yunus-bek Yevkurov, within the framework of his working trip to the Republic of Tatarstan.

During the visit, the honoured guest was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Almaz Khusainov, Deputy Head of the Zelenodolsk Municipal District Foat Shamsiev, Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service in Tatarstan Marat Safiullin, Executive Director of Ak Bars Holding Ilshat Shagiakhmetov, and First Deputy Director General of Zelenodolsk Shipyard Aleksandr Karpov. He visited the company’s Museum of Military and Labour Glory, reviewed the shipbuilding workshops of the yard, studied the latest developments and promising projects in the field of military shipbuilding, and inspected the construction progress of Ingushetia, a small missile ship of Project 21631.

The small missile ships of Project 21631 “Buyan-M”, being built at the shipyard since 2010 for the Russian Navy, are multi-purpose river-sea vessels equipped with the most advanced missile, artillery, anti-sabotage, anti-aircraft, and electronic countermeasure weapons. The ships of this project are dedicated to the protection and defence of national economic zones.

On May 26, a meeting was held in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan on the issue of ensuring the security of fuel and energy complex facilities in Tatarstan with the participation of Head of Regulatory and Legal Department for the Security of Energy Facilities at the Russian Ministry of Energy Sergei Shabalin, managers and experts of enterprises, representatives of law enforcement agencies (Tatarstan divisions of the Russian National Guard, Federal Security Service, and Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations), and representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.

The meeting was preceded by the visit of the Russian Ministry of Energy representative to a number of enterprises in Nizhnekamsk and Kazan, and the inspection of their preparedness for the FIFA World Cup 2018. Following the results of the visits, a high level of organising security work was noted; the parties discussed practical aspects of implementing legislation and considered draft regulations aimed at improving the legislation in the sphere of ensuring security and counter-terrorism safety of energy facilities.

On May 25, the Lyceum with Extensive Learning of Chemistry for Gifted Children under the KNITU held the Farewell Bell event for its graduates. The heroes of the festivities, together with their homeroom teachers, were greeted with loud applause by honorary guests, parents, teachers, tutors, students of the Lyceum, and past years’ graduates.

On this touching and festive day, the graduates were congratulated by Lyceum Director Liliya Ibrasheva, KNITU Deputy Principal for Ongoing Education Prof. Lyubov Ovsienko, Deputy Head of the Zelenodolsk Executive Committee and Head of Education Department Raisa Afanasyeva, Director of the Yokogawa Electric CIS Alexey Anokhin, and Head of Corporate Governance Department at the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade Andrey Fyodorov.

During the celebration, 13 students of the 9th and 11th grades were awarded with gold medals. The graduates have spoken the words of gratitude and appreciation to their teachers and tutors. From the parents, words of appreciation were also expressed to the pedagogical staff of the Lyceum, along with warm farewell to the graduates. The farewell bell of school life became the finishing touch to the event. Finally, graduates, making their most cherished wishes, released pigeons into the air.

In the period from June 10 to September 10, 2017 in Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan), the International Specialised Exhibition EXPO 2017 will be held on the topic of “Future Energy”.

The Russia’s exposition will be one of the largest at EXPO 2017 with over 1,000 square metres of floor space. Its exhibits will reveal the issue of our country’s energy potential on the example of the unique natural region, the Russian Arctic.

In support of the Year of Ecology in Russia, the exposition will also present the issue of preserving existing ecosystems, flora, and fauna. The visitor will see dynamic video installations: “The Natural World of the Arctic”, “The Underwater World of the Arctic. Shelf”, and “Arctic Flora and Fauna. Ice”. Particular attention will be paid to conservation and restoration projects for the populations of rare animals.

At the end of the tour, visitors will enter the zone of changing exhibits, where during the three months of the Expo's work, Russian companies and regions will demonstrate their advanced technologies on the subject of the international exhibition and their economic potential.

The cultural programme of Russia at the EXPO 2017 will become a significant addition to the main project’s activities. Within the framework of the Expo, the Festival of Russian Regions’ Culture will take place, which will involve performers and art groups from many parts of Russia.

On May 25, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov took part in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Andrey Kobyakov.

Welcoming the guests, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the visit of the Belarusian delegation is a good opportunity to discuss the progress in the Tatarstan-Belorussian cooperation and the prospects for its development, aimed at strengthening friendly relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.

Andrey Kobyakov, in turn, thanked the republic’s leadership for the informative reception of the Belarus delegation. According to Andrey Kobyakov, Tatarstan is one of the largest trading partners of Belarus from among the Russian regions. “Today we can say with confidence that we have reached the trajectory of increasing our mutual trade turnover. There are good prospects for the development of industrial cooperation in the field of engineering, in the field of scientific and technical cooperation, and in cultural ties,” the Prime Minister of Belarus added.

It should be reminded that Andrey Kobyakov arrived in Kazan to take part in the meetings of the Council of CIS Heads of Government and the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

The Russia Helicopters Holding will present a wide range of civilian and military helicopters at the 10th International Helicopter Industry Exhibition HeliRussia 2017 to be held in the Crocus Expo IEC (Moscow) from 25 to 27 May.

The static exhibition of the HeliRussia will feature a Mi-38 multipurpose medium helicopter, as well as three differently equipped Ansat helicopters. At the same time, participants and guests of the exhibition can explore the whole range of helicopters produced by the holding company directly at the Russian Helicopters stand.

A separate item in the HeliRussia-2017 agenda will be the problematics of UAVs. In particular, the BP-Technologies Design Office will present its experimental model of the upgraded convertiplane drone, which is currently undergoing flight tests.

In addition, the Holding's experts will take an active part in the business programme of the event; a number of negotiations with Russian and foreign partners are also scheduled.

Ansat is a light two-engine multipurpose helicopter with hydro-mechanical control system (HMCS). In May 2015, the helicopter was certified with a medical module that meets all international standards of sanitary aviation and allows saving a person's life for the period of transportation.

Today in Innopolis, the “Information Technology of Industrial Russia 2017” Conference (CIPR) started. It is worth noting that this conference is the year’s main event in this industry.

The conclusions reached within these discussions will form the basis for the decisions to be made by the country's leadership on supporting high-tech sectors of the economy, noted the CIPR organisers. Experts at the Conference will include advisors to the Russian President, ministers, heads of regions, and representatives of major Russia’s and global companies.

It should be added that within the framework of the business programme, dozens of agreements are scheduled for signing between the leaders of the Russia’s IT market. Besides, more than 20 round table discussions will be devoted to the development of digital economy and information security in Russia.

In addition, within the framework of the CIPR, Innopolis will become a venue for another conference, “Russian Internet Forum 2017”.

CIPR is the first IT conference in Russia providing a platform for an effective dialogue between representatives of manufacturing industry, IT sector’s professionals, defence industry, and venture investors. The forum will be held in Innopolis until May 26.

On May 24, the Lyceum with Extensive Learning of Chemistry for Gifted Children under the KNITU honoured its brightest, purposeful, and talented students.

 

The traditional festival of the Lyceum, Mendeleev's Hopes 2017, was held in the assembly hall. During the ceremonial event, outstanding students, prizewinners, and awardees of academic competitions and various scientific contests and projects received congratulations, were presented with diplomas and gifts from the Lyceum’s administration and honoured guests.

 

At the festival, the Lyceum’s students showed themselves to be remarkably creative. Playing the accordion by Nargiz Sherova and saxophone by Dmitry Polushin, a wonderful song about the school from the choir and its soloist Leysan Nizamova, a favourite performance of the Amethyst trio and a waltz from the 11th class – all this brightened up the festival.

On May 23, 2017, celebrations of the Chemist's Day were held in Nizhnekamsk. Its organisers were the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Mayor's Office of Nizhnekamsk, Nizhnekamskneftekhim, TAIF, Tatneft, and KNITU.

Before the beginning of the festive celebrations, the guests visited the exhibition of the republic’s petrochemical products. They were presented with the latest achievements in oil production, processing, and logistics, in the fields of petrochemicals, environmental protection, synthetic rubbers, plastics, and innovative technologies.

The celebration began with a colourful theatrical prologue.

Later, an award ceremony was held for academic scholars, production scientists, and innovators who made a great contribution to the development of chemical science.

A separate block of the holiday was dedicated to young people; Tatarstan Minister of Education Engel Fattakhov congratulated the winners of the All-Russian and Republic’s academic competitions and WorldSkills Russia contests.

The official part of the event was completed by Prime Minister Alexei Pesoshin. He, on behalf of the Tatarstan President, congratulated all petrochemical industry employees of the republic on their professional holiday. Further, state awards of Tatarstan were presented to the best workers of petrochemical enterprises. In total, more than 4,000 people took part in the celebrations of the Chemist's Day.
