Tatarstan to become richer in forests

28 April 2017, Friday

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan joined the All-Russian “Forest Planting Day” campaign. Employees of the Ministry took part in planting young trees in the territory of the Laishevsky District.

The “Forest Planting Day” is a sort of a holiday that is celebrated in many countries worldwide, and, as its name suggests, is associated with tree planting, restoration of lost forests, or aspiration to plant trees and develop urban and suburban areas: parks, squares, etc. The purpose of this event is not only reproducing and augmenting the republic's forest resources, but also fostering an attitude of care towards forests, attracting the public's attention to the problems of its preservation, and improving the environmental setting and the habitat of the citizens.

In the republic’s territory, such forest-forming species will be planted as pine, European spruce, Siberian larch, small-leaved linden, mountain ash, etc.
