Professional Skill Contest of the National Tatar Cuisine

Yesterday, on 29 February 2016, the House of Tatar Cuisine hosted the Professional Skill Contest of the National Tatar Cuisine named after Yunus Akhmetzyanov. The contest was organised by the Institute of Economics, Management and Law, and the House of Tatar Cuisine under the auspices of the Committee for Tourism Promotion of Kazan. The official opening ceremony of the contest was attended by representatives of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Tatarstan Ministry of Education and Science, and the Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Kazan and Tatarstan.

The contest was participated by 26 students from secondary and higher vocational institutions of Kazan and Tatarstan who competed with each other in cooking five courses of the national cuisine: Tatar noodle soup, kullama soup, salma soup, echpochmak (triangle-shaped patty), and sweet crisp pastry. Earlier, elimination rounds were held in all Tatarstan educational institutions that train cooks and technologists of catering.

Following the results of the contest, Kristina Borovlyova (Vocational College No.1) ranked first, Aliya Iksanova (Small Business and Entrepreneurship College) ranked second, and Aliya Zagidullina (International Service College) ranked third.
