The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan joined the All-Russian “Forest Planting Day” campaign. Employees of the Ministry took part in planting young trees in the territory of the Laishevsky District.

The “Forest Planting Day” is a sort of a holiday that is celebrated in many countries worldwide, and, as its name suggests, is associated with tree planting, restoration of lost forests, or aspiration to plant trees and develop urban and suburban areas: parks, squares, etc. The purpose of this event is not only reproducing and augmenting the republic's forest resources, but also fostering an attitude of care towards forests, attracting the public's attention to the problems of its preservation, and improving the environmental setting and the habitat of the citizens.

In the republic’s territory, such forest-forming species will be planted as pine, European spruce, Siberian larch, small-leaved linden, mountain ash, etc.

On April 28, in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, its Deputy Minister Almaz Khusainov met with the delegation of the Riga City Council headed by its Chairman, Mayor of Riga Nil Ushakov. The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation.

During the event, the guests were delivered a presentation of the Tatarstan’s industrial potential. Almaz Khusainov introduced major enterprises of oil, gas, chemical, and mechanical engineering sectors of the republic, such as Tatneft and TAIF, KAMAZ, Ford Sollers, Kazan Helicopters, Gorbunov KAZ, Zelenodolsk Shipyard, ElAZ, KMPO, Kazankompressormash, and others.

Nil Ushakov briefly talked about the results of his visit to Kazan, including the signing of an agreement on bilateral cooperation between the capitals of Tatarstan and Latvia, which involves the exchange of expertise and experts in the field of local government, culture, sports, education, tourism, environmental issues, social protection, and health care.

The first Riga-Kazan flight was launched on the night of 26 to 27 April this year.

From April 24 to 28, members of the working group for the implementation of the Tatarstan wind power plant project, chaired by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Aleksey Sergeyev, visited Germany. The delegation also included representatives of the Grid Company, the Tatarstan Regional Dispatching Office of the Unified Energy System, and the Russian Wind company.
