OAO “Sollers” and “Ford Motor Company”onFebruary 18, 2011 signed a Letter of Intent on establishment of joint venture in the territory of Russia. According to the Letter of Intent the companies have equal participation. The enterprise which is going to be called “Ford Sollers” shall manufacture and sell Ford vehicles in the Russian market.

On 17 February 2011, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Gulnara Ahmadeyeva took part in the executive summary meeting dedicated to “The development of industry, consumer market, business activities of Naberezhnye Chelny in 2010 and their innovation improvement in 2011”.

On February 2011 at the celebration of the 35thanniversary since the first truck production at the KamAZ automotive giant, Sergey Kogogin, Director General of KamAZ plant came up with a new slogan: “On course for 2 million KamAZ trucks in 2011”

Ravil Zaripov met with the Consul General of Turkey in Kazan
On 16 February 2011, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov had a meeting with the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Kazan Ahmet Akynty. The parties discussed the current issues and prospects for cooperation.

On 15 February 2011, a meeting was held between First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Igor Nosov and Director General of Commercial Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Russian Federation, Director of KOTRA Moscow Office Ro In Hoh. The parties discussed how to attract direct investments and high technologies of leading Korean companies to Tatarstan.

In February, the 16th Food Business Russia 2011 international summit entitled “Customer. Strategies of Competitive Excellence in Meeting the Demand” took place in Moscow. The business summit was visited by representatives of retail chains of Russia and CIS countries, Russian producers of food, beverages and pharmaceuticals, as well as the leaders of Russia-based subsidiaries of international companies. The participants discussed current issues related to the oncoming structure of the food market in 2011 and shared the success strategies.

On 14 February 2011, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Mingaleyev had a meeting with the delegation of the Indian company Mishra Dhatu Ltd headed by its Managing Director Mineni Narayana Rao. The parties discussed the development prospects for cooperation.

On 13 February 2011, the employees of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade took part in the Ski Track of Russia 2011 mass race that took place in Kazan, Gorky Central Park (Labour Reserves Stadium). Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov was the first to start the race.

On 11 February 2011, held was a meeting of Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov with the delegation of Czech Republic headed by Peter Kolarzh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Czech Republic in the Russian Federation. The parties exchanged views, discussed the prospects of Tatarstan- Czech cooperation.
