In the period of 2 to 5 June 2011, the Menzelinsk Aerodrome in the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a Russian Cup in Helicopter Sports. Eight teams took part in the team competition: those from Moscow, Moscow Region, Samara Region and Saratov Region, CSK VVS (Samara), Syzran Branch of Mil Ed Center AF (VUNTs VVS) and 2 teams from the 1st Aerosoyuz Helicopter Club. The individual competition was drawn among 19 teams. The sportsmen flew Mi-2 and Robinson-44 helicopters.

On 2 June 2011, within the framework of popularising blue-collar and engineer jobs with the aim of attracting and retaining employees at the Tatarstan enterprises, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, jointly with the Republic’s Agency for Press and Mass Communications Tatmedia, organised a meeting with media representatives at OAO Kazankompressormash.

On 27 May 2011, Tupolev Kazan State Technical University held an opening ceremony of its Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials Research and Education Centre. As a part of the event, a joint meeting was held of the Republic’s Interagency Commission on Nanoindustry Development of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Nanotechnology Society.

In the period of 26 to 28 May 2011, the delegation of the Azerbaijani Republic headed by the Minister of Economic Development of the Azerbaijani Republic Shahin Mustafayev is making a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan.

On 26 May 2011, SEZ Alabuga hosted a meeting with Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Oleg Saveliev, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. The meeting dealt with the issues related to the possible emergence of new automotive component production facilities in the SEZ.

The Days of National Cuisine of ethnic groups living in Tatarstan are underway at public catering enterprises of the republic. On 25 May 2011, the staff of the café All Nations Cuisine Gallery and restaurant Kanpai organised thematic holidays for visitors - Days of Tatar and Malaysian Cuisine, respectively.
