On 14 February 2016, the traditional mass ski race “Ski Track of Russia 2016” took place in 72 major cities of Russia. This year, this largest winter sporting event was started in Kazan at three venues. The most attended race took place in the camp “Solnechnyi” in village Zalesny.

The participants at the opening ceremony of the ski competition included Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Ildar Gilmutdinov, Chief of Staff of the Tatarstan President Asgat Safarov, Tatarstan Minister of Youth and Sport Vladimir Leonov, and Head of the Administration of the Kirov and Moscow Municipal Districts of Kazan Damir Fattakhov. From the Ministry, the event was attended by First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ruslan Kabirov.

On 12 February 2016, Russia`s President Vladimir Putin held a meeting of the Military-Industrial Commission at KAMAZ plant. The event is held within the framework of the President’s working visit to Naberezhnye Chelny.

The meeting is attended by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, and other top officials from ministries and agencies.

Vladimir Putin has noted that the 2015 State defence order (SDO) was fulfilled better than in previous years.

In his opinion, all of the tasks to ensure the defence capability and national security can and should be made, particularly but not exclusively, by optimising internal procedures. Vladimir Putin has demanded to improve the instruments of interaction between customers and SDO performers and to strengthen the spending discipline.

Within the framework of his working visit to Naberezhnye Chelny on 12 February 2016, Russia`s President Vladimir Putin took part in the official event dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the first KAMAZ truck. The head of state was accompanied by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, and other top officials from federal and republic`s ministries and agencies.

The Russia`s President started his speech by expressing gratitude to the long-term employees of KAMAZ.

Putin also marked achievements of the KAMAZ-Master team that has been holding the lead for many years in the most prestigious international competitions.

Then, the head of state talked to the long-term employees of KAMAZ. He again thanked them for their great contribution to the development of Russia`s machine-building industry. Having congratulated the honoured employees of the plant on the anniversary, Vladimir Putin wished them good health and long life.

The commissioning procedure of the Ammonium complex producing ammonia, methanol, and granulated carbamide was held in Mendeleyevsk on February 12 by Russia`s President Vladimir Putin.

The event was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, and other officials.

Russia`s President Vladimir Putin has congratulated the participants of the official ceremony on the attainment of the projected capacity by the complex and thanked those who participated in the implementation of the project.

Rustam Minnikhanov, in his turn, has thanked President Putin for supporting the project.

The projected annual output is 717,000 tonnes of ammonia, the same for carbamide, 233,000 tonnes of methanol, and at least 300,000 tonnes of ammonium nitrate, said Rinat Khanbikov, Director General of Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Kazan.

On 12 February 2016, AO Vasilievsky Glass Factory celebrated its 115th anniversary.

Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Rashat Fattakhov congratulated employees on the remarkable event and noted that the AO Vasilievsky Glass Factory is an only enterprise in Russia that produces heat resistant borosilicate glassware. On behalf of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, Rashat Fattakhov expressed appreciation and gratitude to labour veterans of the enterprise and wished the employees new production achievements, good health, stability, and prosperity.

On 11 February 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov attended the 15th session of the Tatarstan State Council of the fifth convocation.

The Tatarstan State Council adopted two Tatarstan draft laws to support residents of outstripping development territories.

On 11 February 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov attended the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Tatarstan Investment and Venture Fund under the chairmanship of Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov.

The members of the Board of Trustees approved a financial plan of the organisation for 2016.

The participants of the meeting considered issues concerning interaction of the Tatarstan Investment and Venture Fund with OAO Technopolis Himgrad, AO Vasilievsky Glass Plant, ZAO Innovative Technopark “Idea”, etc.

On 10 February 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov attended the meeting of entrepreneurs during which a presentation of the Council of Entrepreneurship under the Tatarstan President was made and issues of its establishment were discussed.

The mission of the Council on Entrepreneurship is to improve a business climate and discuss topical issues of the entrepreneurship. The decision to establish the Council was made by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on 24 August 2015 during his meeting with entrepreneurs “Business and Authority: a Straight Talk”. In the nearest future, it is scheduled to hold a first meeting of the Council with the participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

On 10 February 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the session of the Assembly of members of the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

During the session of the Assembly, the members of the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry discussed issues of development of business in 2016 and investment attractiveness of the region.

The delegates also discussed issues connected with the 7th Congress of Members of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to be held on 1 March 2016.

On 9 February 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov chaired a working meeting on legal regulation of siting non-stationary retail facilities in the republic.

The meeting was attended by the Commissioner under the Tatarstan President for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs Timur Nagumanov, top officials of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Executive Committee of Kazan.

During the meeting, the participants considered proposals and comments on the Draft Federal Law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation (in part of improving the legal regulation of organising non-stationary and retail delivery trade)” prepared by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
