On 18 April 2016, Kazan saw the opening of the Convention of Young Innovators, Inventors, and Efficiency Experts from Russian Regions
The Convention opening ceremony was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology Ivan Bortnik, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Tatarstan Minister of Economy Artem Zdunov, Acting Executive Director of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR) Ivan Fedotov, and Principal of KNRTU-KAI Albert Gilmutdinov.
During a plenary session, young innovators and inventors presented their projects.
18 April 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov opened a new Youth Innovation Creativity Centre based on the Engineering Lyceum of KNRTU-KAI. The event was attended by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Chairman of the Supervisory Council of the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology Ivan Bortnik, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Principal of KNRTU-KAI Albert Gilmutdinov, and top officials of Tatarstan ministries and agencies.
Rustam Minnikhanov and accompanying persons visited classrooms, learnt about the academic programme of the educational institution and about the project of Lyceum development.
On 15 April 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov took part in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with Akim of the Kostanay Oblast (Kazakhstan) Arkhimed Mukhambetov.
On 15 April 2016, an annual general meeting of shareholders of PAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. During the meeting, results of company activities in 2015 were summarised.
During the tour of PAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim, Rustam Minnikhanov learned about the construction progress of a new facility for the production of isobutene with an output 160,000 tonnes per year. The construction of the facility was launched in June 2015, the project completion date is the end of 2016.
On 15 April 2016, a delegation from Kostanay Oblast headed by Akim Arkhimed Mukhambetov visited Technopolis Himgrad within the visit to the Republic of Tatarstan. Arkhimed Mukhambetov was accompanied by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov.
The delegation visited the laboratory of the Regional Biotechnology Engineering Centre of the Republic of Tatarstan that is being created and Kazan Plant of Modern Packaging.
From 15 to 16 April 2016, Kostanay Oblast delegation headed by Akimat Arkhimed Mukhambetov is visiting the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Kazakhstan delegation comprises representatives of State authorities and business community of the Kostanay Oblast, Republic of Kazakhstan.
Within the visit to the Republic of Tatarstan, the Kazakhstan delegation will have a meeting with President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
On 4 April 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov chaired a meeting on strengthening cooperation between regional engineering centres and industrial enterprises, and prototyping centres and industrial enterprises.
Tatarstan President emphasised that engineering centres created in the Republic of Tatarstan must serve as a strong scientific and research platform for our industrial enterprises.
On 14 April 2016, the 4th Republic`s Contest of Youth Innovation Projects “Innovation Testing Site ‘Tatarstan is the Territory of Future’” 2016 started in Technopolis Himgrad.
The organiser of the contest is Kazan National Research Technological University, co-organisers are Technopolis Himgrad and Innovative Technopark Idea. The event is supported by the Tatarstan Ministry of Education and Science, Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Tatarstan Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Tourism.
On 3 April 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov made tour of production sites of Sukhoi Design Bureau, a branch of Sukhoi Company Aviation Production Association.
Tatarstan President was accompanied by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Assistant to the Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Albert Nafigin, Director General of AO Kazan Giproniiaviaprom Boris Tikhomirov, and others.
On 13 April 2016, Tatarstan delegation headed by its President Rustam Minnikhanov visited All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials (VIAM).
Tatarstan delegation comprised Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Aides to the Tatarstan President Ravil Zaripov and Albert Nafigin, top executives of AO Kazan Giproniiaviaprom, OAO KMPO, AO Kazan Scientific and Research Institute of Aviation Technology, PAO Kazan Electrical Plant, AO NPO Simonov Design Bureau, PAO KAI-Laser, KAI-Composite, Tatarstan Academy of Sciences, and principals of Kazan National Research Technical University and the Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering.
During the meeting, parties discussed the results and outlooks of scientific and technical cooperation, implementation of existing joint projects, and stages of mastering high-tech innovative products by Tatarstan enterprises. One of the main topics of the meeting was implementation of measures for creation a branch of VIAM in Tatarstan.
