On 4 May 2016, Kazan will host the Tatarstan-Sichuan Business Forum within the working visit of Communist Party Secretary of the Sichuan Province Wang Dongming.

The Business Forum will be attended by Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Communist Party Secretary of the Sichuan Province and Director of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Wang Dongming, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Director of Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Committee Tang Limin, representatives of State authorities and business communities of Tatarstan and China.

During the Business Forum, it is scheduled to sign bilateral agreements on cooperation. B2B meetings between representatives of business communities of Tatarstan and China will be held as well.

On 30 April 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov presented the Letter of Gratitude by Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov to Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Rashat Fattakhov for his long-term fruitful work in the executive authority of the republic.

On 29 April 2016, Tatarstan President made tour of resident companies’ enterprises that are under construction at the SEZ Alabuga. He was accompanied by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and Director General of SEZ Alabuga Timur Shagivaleyev. Tatarstan President learned about the construction progress of the second stage of KASTAMONU plant and a new plant of Belgium-based Drylock company.

Belguim-based Drylock company is building a plant on production of sanitary tissue products.

On 29 April 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the meeting chaired by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov of the Supervisory Board of the SEZ Alabuga.

Supervisory Board of the SEZ Alabuga approved projects amounting to RUB 4 billion of three new resident companies. August-Alabuga, Lanit-Agro and Rus-Calender companies seek for the resident status at SEZ Alabuga.

Also during the meeting of the Supervisory Board, top executives of the SEZ Alabuga informed about the performance of the SEZ’s management company.

On 29 April 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov made tour of ZAO Naberezhnye Chelny Cardboard and Paper Mill. He learned about the production activities of the enterprise and its upgrading progress.

The Mill is a recognised leader of the sector in implementing innovative technologies and equipment. It cooperates effectively with such leading global producers of equipment as BHS (Germany), Bobst (Switzerland), Martin/Bobst Lyon (France), Voith (Germany), Andritz (Austria), GL&V (Sweden), Metso/Valmet (Finland/Sweden), Honeywell (Europe), and Fabio Perini (Italy).

On 29 April 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov made tour of Kama Crystal Technology in Naberezhnye Chelny. The enterprise is implementing the project “Production of Synthetic Sapphire for Optoelectronics”.

The Head of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade learned about the production process and products of the enterprise.

On 28 April 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Kazan Federal University under the chairmanship of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

The event was held in the Engineering and Laboratory Building of the KFU’s Institute of Engineering. During the meeting, parties considered issues of engineering education development.

On 28 April 2016, the signing of the Memorandum for preventing unjustified price growth for socially important bread in Tatarstan by bread producers and trade organisations took place in the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The document was signed, in the presence of Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and Business Ombudsman under the Tatarstan President Timur Nagumanov, by Bulat Kutdusov (Director General of AO BKK), Ildar Nikiforov (Chairman of the Board of Tatarstan Union of Bread Producers), representatives of trade chains Emil Bagirov (Director of the Volga Division of Pyatyorochka federal trade chain (X5 Retail Group)) and Vadim Makheyev (Director General of OOO Optovik, Essen retail chain).

Head of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov emphasised that “in the conditions of the current economic situation, the main task is to prevent an unjustified price growth for socially important bread, to extend as much as possible the number of trade chains and producers that would sign a resolution on joining the Memorandum and would abide by its provisions in good faith.

On 28 April 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov took part in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Russian Federation Vladimir Remek. The parties discussed the issues of cooperation development between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Tatarstan within the Russian-Czech relations.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Russian Federation Vladimir Remek arrived to Kazan to participate in the ceremony of opening the direct flights “Kazan – Prague – Kazan”. The flights will be carried out by “Czech Airlines”, the first flight took place this night.

On 27 April 2016, the delegation from Tatarstan visited Ulyanovsk Oblast to share experience in implementing energy performance contracts.

Tatarstan delegation comprised representatives of Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, Tatarstan Ministry of Finance, Tatarstan Ministry of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Communal Services, Tatarstan Ministry of Economy, Tatarstan State Procurement Committee, GAU Centre of Energy Saving Technologies under the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers, MUP Kazan Energy Service Centre, executive committees of Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk and Chistopol, as well as other organisations.

Following the results of the visit, parties reached an agreement to study an issue of signing the agreement between the Government of Ulyanovsk Oblast and the Government of Tatarstan on mutual cooperation in implementing energy performance contracts.
