On 7 June 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov had a meeting with representatives of Messe Frankfurt, the international exhibition company.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Board of Directors of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd Jason Cao, Director General of Messe Frankfurt RUS Eugen Alles, Director General of OAO Kazanskaya Yarmarka Lev Semyonov, and Director General of OOO Business Media Russia Aleksey Matveyev.
Head of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov briefly presented the industrial potential of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Participants of the meeting discussed promising areas for cooperation in organising and holding the Tatarstan congress and exhibition events with the participation of Messe Frankfurt.
On 7 June 2016, the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers had a briefing meeting following the results of the visit of Tatarstan delegation headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to Germany. Head of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov informed the participants about the results of the working visit of the Tatarstan delegation to Saxony and Thuringia (Germany). He briefly described Germany and its economy and noted that GDP of Germany in 2015 amounted to USD 3,413 trillion. Albert Karimov emphasised that Germany is one of the main trade partners of the Republic of Tatarstan. In 2015, foreign trade turnover between Germany and Tatarstan amounted to USD 1,198.8 million. Share of export and import operations in foreign trade turnover amounted to 54% and 46% accordingly.
On 7 June 2016, Innopolis (Republic of Tatarstan) saw the opening ceremony of the Information Technology of Industrial Russia (ITIR) Conference.
Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov welcomed the participants and expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the Information Technology of Industrial Russia (ITIR) project initiated a year ago by the Rostec State Corporation has been continued.
Within the framework of the Information Technology of Industrial Russia Conference, the participants signed a number of agreements.
On 6 June 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov chaired the meeting of the Economic Council under the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers “On Development of Products Exports by Enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan”.
The report “On Current Situation and Outlook for Development of Products Exports by Industrial Enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan” was presented by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov.
According to Albert Karimov, based on the guidelines of the Development Strategy for the republic until 2030, export strategy of Tatarstan and the appropriate programme have to be developed defining the main areas for export development and geographical priorities of Tatarstan.

On 3 June 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow signed a Memorandum of Understanding and the Protocol on Cooperation following the results of the working visit of the Tatarstan delegation to Thuringia.

On 3 June 2016, the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology conducted the presentation in Jena for the Tatarstan delegation headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
The Institute is engaged in researching the fundamentals of photonic processes and systems of high sensitivity. In addition, the Institute conducts researches in the field of quantum electronics, optics, electronic systems, microsystems, bio-photonics, and laser technologies.
Rustam Minnikhanov and accompanying persons visited some of the laboratories and research facilities and learnt about latest equipment used at the Institute of Photonic Technology.
On 3 June 2016, within the framework of the working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, the Tatarstan delegation headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited Thuringia-based companies Analytik Jena AG and Jena-Optronik GmbH.
Top executives of Analytik Jena AG expressed their interest in extending cooperation with Tatarstan in terms of joint researches and implementation of joint projects in medical science and education. In particular, it was suggested to open a Centre for Scientific Researches in Kazan.
Jena-Optronik GmbH develops orientation and orbit control sensors for satellites, and optical equipment for observing Earth. Images obtained with the aid of these systems are used for estimations of agriculture and forestry, water and soil quality, as well as to determine the time of harvest, and for environmental and meteorological research.
Its subsidiary company, Jenoptik AG founded in 1992, is now a leading supplier of optical and electronic systems, including those for the rocket and space industry.
On 3 June 2016, Tatarstan delegation headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov studied the work of the Jena University Hospital in Jena, Thuringia (Germany).
The central research areas of the Hospital are blood poisoning (sepsis) and its consequences, geriatrics (aging and associated diseases), cellular signal transduction, and medical optics and photonics.
Rustam Minnikhanov and his accompanying persons made a tour of the Hospital`s laboratories and rooms equipped for scientific researches.
