An enlarged meeting of the working group for monitoring the situation with regard to the introduction of goods marking by identification means under the Tatarstan Committee to Combat Illicit Trafficking in Industrial Products took place today at the Ministry of Industry and Trade Tatarstan on the topic of the Packaged Water Market: Current Situation and Specifics of Introducing Marking.
The meeting was attended by representatives of ministries and agencies of Tatarstan, Office of the Tatarstan Presidential Commissioner for Entrepreneurs’ Rights, Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Operator-CRPT, Union of Juice, Water, and Drink Producers and heads of Tatarstan’s manufacturers.
Within the meeting, industry participants, experts, and representatives of Tatarstan’s executive authorities discussed the current status on the packaged water market in Russia and Tatarstan, the implementation of marking for this category of goods, as well as potential support measures for the business.
In 2020, enterprises in Tatarstan produced 5.5 million dal of non-alcoholic beverages, which is 103.5% compared to the corresponding period in 2019.
To counteract the turnover of counterfeit packaged drinking water, including natural mineral waters, an experiment on marking by identification means was conducted from April 1, 2020 to March 1, 2021 on the territory of the Russian Federation. An extension of the experiment until 1 June 2021 is currently under consideration.
