9 December 2020, Wednesday

The first university’s co-working space entitled “Boiling Point” opened in Tatarstan on December 8 at the Kazan State Power Engineering University.

The Boiling Point network of project offices is a federal project of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) aimed at solving the key tasks of the National Technology Initiative. The spaces are intended for scientists, business and technology entrepreneurs, civil servants, members of public organisations and professional communities, and students. At these sites, they can share experience, results of their activities, jointly work out new development models, receive an expert assessment of their projects and initiatives. Such project offices are already operating in 61 regions of the country. In 2020, about 12,000 events were held at Boiling Points.

In Kazan, the project started in May last year at the IT Park. Now, the first university’s Boiling Point in Tatarstan has been launched at KSPEU. The opening ceremony took place in a hybrid format, with the connection of online participants.

The KSPEU Boiling Point also initiated work by sections in virtual thematic halls, such as Energy of Sun, Energy of Wind, and Energy of Water. Experts, students, teachers, representatives of the ASI, ministries and agencies attended round tables, trainings, and online games. Residents of the KSPEU Youth Innovation Centre showed “robot fights” techno show and held master classes on operating CNC tools, making souvenirs from epoxy resins, and transferring wood-burning patterns.
