New galvanic workshop opened at Kazan Helicopters

Today, the Kazan Helicopters saw the ceremonial opening of the renewed galvanic facility. The event was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Director General at Russian Helicopters Holding Andrey Boginsky, and Director General at Kazan Helicopters Yuri Pustovgarov.

As part of the retrofitting programme, a new building was erected with a total area of ​​12,957.5 square metres, which housed sections for galvanic and paint coatings that earlier used to be in separate buildings. Due to this combination, the total production area was reduced by 27%. The worn-out process equipment in production-critical sections was replaced, and the emissions of pollutants to the environment were reduced.

The new galvanic facility include 6 automatic and 2 manual lines, which are now concentrated by type of metals being processed. The equipment for automatic lines has been made on the Kazan Helicopters’ specifications by Aquacomp Hard.

Also today, the Kazan Helicopters delivered the first medevac Ansat helicopter under a new contract with the State Transport Leasing Company. In the first half of 2018, Kazan Helicopters plans to hand over 11 more rotorcraft to the customer.
