Polymer Day held at the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade

12 April 2017, Wednesday

On April 12, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted a Polymer Day devoted to the prospects of establishing an Exotest laboratory in Kazan and the opportunity of testing plastics for automotive components by polymer processors.

During the event, Exotest Group President Emmanuel Bin told the participants about the project and the methods for testing materials and parts from polymer composites.

The main outstanding issue in the automotive components industry during homologation is a necessity to test materials and parts for vehicles in the laboratories that are certified by automakers. Given the lack of such laboratories in the Russian Federation today, auto component manufacturers need to order appropriate tests abroad, which results in more expenses and longer waiting times. In this regard, the participants noted that in case of opening an Exotest office in Kazan, the laboratory would be in high demand among producers of polymer composites both in Tatarstan and in the Russian Federation in general.

The event was attended by such polymer producers and consumers as Nizhnekamskneftekhim, Kazanorgsintez, Technopolis Himgrad, TechnoPromPlast, Magna Automotive Rus and others, as well as automakers JV Ford Sollers, UAZ, and GAZ Group.
