Today, Kazan saw the 9th International Economic Summit “Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2017”. The event was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, and other officials. The forum programme covers a number of events, such as panel discussions, seminars, workshops, applied research conferences, round tables, business council sessions, and bilateral meetings. Within the KazanSummit, the Kazan Forum of Young Entrepreneurs and the meeting of young diplomats from the countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) are also held. For the first time, the Russia Halal Expo was organised, the Russia’s largest and the only halal industry exhibition in the Volga Federal District. The 9th International Economic Summit of Russia and the OIC countries “Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2017” is hosting more than 2,000 guests from 50 countries. Traditionally, the central topic of the Summit is the economy of Islamic countries and regions. In addition, this year KazanSummit 2017 addresses such areas as social entrepreneurship, ecology, charity, corporate strategies, tourism, Islamic education, and others. The KazanSummit 2017 is held from May 18 to May 20.
