    Field trip under Federal Practice programme

    As part of cooperation between the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tatarstan will host a training course on September 14-15 under the Federal Practice programme for representatives of regional executive authorities, regional development institutions and enterprises within the Volga Federal District. The event is organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Federal Practice project is being implemented within the scope of agreements on interaction in the sphere of industrial and trade policies with the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The event will comprise industry-specific sessions on the most urgent issues of industrial development in the Volga Federal District. In addition, presentations during the training course will be delivered by representatives of the Industrial Development Fund, the Russian Exports Centre, the SME Corporation, Vnesheconombank, the Agency of Technological Development, the Russian Technological Agency, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and others.

    International Anti-Counterfeiting Forum 2017 started

    Today on September 14, the 5th International Anti-Counterfeiting Forum 2017, dedicated to the problems of combating the illegal circulation of industrial products and ensuring the protection of intellectual property rights, began its work in the Ala-Archa State Residence in Bishkek. The forum is organised by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the International Anti-Counterfeiting Association. The Anti-Counterfeiting Forum has already become the central discussion platform within the framework of the EurAsEC, where representatives of ministries and agencies, large companies and organisations, leading international experts in this field, representatives of scientific community and the public have a good opportunity to discuss the problems of protecting markets from illicit trafficking in industrial products, including counterfeit and fake ones, ensuring the protection of intellectual property rights, as well as to enter into a constructive dialogue and develop joint solutions to form a civilised market of goods and services. Within the framework of the forum, its participants will also consider issues of customs, technical regulation and certification, human resources development, harmonisation of the legislation in the EurAsEC member states in the sphere of illegal trafficking of industrial products, protection of intellectual property rights, and the consumer market.

    Drylock Technologies plant opened in SEZ Alabuga

    Today, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the launching ceremony of the Drylock Technology (Belgium) plant for sanitary and hygienic products in the SEZ Alabuga. The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov. According to company’s CEO Bart Van Malderen, investment in the project amounted to over EUR 40 million. The total production capacity should be 3 to 3.5 billion diapers. As Mr. Malderen pointed out, the project can pay off in 5 years. The Tatarstan President thanked the company’s CEO for choosing the SEZ Alabuga as a site for placing its production facilities. It should be noted that this is not the first plant in Russia. Such production facilities are located already in Nizhny Novgorod. By putting the plant into service in the SEZ Alabuga, investors plan to meet the region's need for sanitary and hygienic products. The company is engaged in the production of absorbent underwear and hygiene products for women, children and low-mobility groups, such as diapers, draw sheets and special products for people with urological diseases. The company became a resident of the SEZ in 2013; the construction of the plant was frozen in 2014. In 2015, the investor decided to continue the project.

    Kazan to host China-Russia industrial cooperation sub-committee meeting

    On September 14, the second meeting of the China-Russia industrial cooperation sub-committee will take place in Kazan. Within the framework of the event, the participants will discuss Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of shipbuilding, automotive, aircraft engineering and aviation sectors, as well as in aluminium industry. Among other things, they will consider the progress in the development programme of a wide-body long-range aircraft and the family created on its basis, the development of a civilian heavy helicopter, the exports of power equipment to Russia, and the localisation opportunities for the production of Chinese equipment in Russia. In addition, the issues for discussion include the opportunities for Chinese companies in the development of a production cluster for high value-added aluminium products based on the Krasnoyarsk Technology Valley in Eastern Siberia, the transfer of some energy-intensive industries from China to Siberia, and the plan to localise the production of measuring equipment and microwave components by China Electronics Technology Instrumentation Co., Ltd. In the field of economic cooperation, the meeting will focus on attracting Chinese partners for the development of the infrastructure in the SEZ Alabuga.
