In the short term, the Republic of Tatarstan would open its representative office in Japan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov stated at the Tatarstan-Japan business forum.

He noted that the opening of the representation would contribute to the further development of Tatar-Japanese cooperation. Trade representative of the republic will be Tamerlan Abdikeyev.

In addition, a Protocol of Intent was signed at the forum between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Yokogawa Electric. The document was signed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and CEO of Yokogawa Electric Takashi Nishijima. In addition, in the presence of Rustam Minnikhanov, an Agreement of Intent was signed between Miyako Capital Ltd and the Tatarstan Venture Capital Fund.

The delegation from Tatarstan is in Japan on a working visit. Earlier, the Tatarstan President met with the Minister of Economy of Japan and business representatives.
