KAMAZ increased assembly rates up to 200 trucks per day

18 September 2017, Monday

KAMAZ went to a new pace of assembly: the daily figures are approaching 200 trucks, while the premieres of the year: KAMAZ-6580, -65801, -65802, -5325 are already in the general flow with the mass production vehicles.

The launch of a new prospective family to the market began with a heavy truck KAMAZ-5490, then KAMAZ-65206 appeared in a tri-axial version, and dump trucks -6520 and -65201 De Lux were also developed. Before corporate holidays, new models were assembled of the essentially revised heavy truck KAMAZ-6580 and its variants -65801, -65802. They are designed to work on construction sites and in quarries. “Now KAMAZ descends into the middle segment, between medium-tonnage and heavy trucks. The short-base KAMAZ-5325 chassis for garbage trucks and the long-base one for high-sided trucks and vans have already been assembled”, said Nail Zamaliev, Deputy Chief Technologist of the Automobile Plant.

In addition, a year ago it was decided to organise pilot assembly of new models at the Automobile Plant. According to Zamaliev, such a manner of work makes it possible to evaluate the total range of problems. When assembling a truck on a conveyor, design and engineering issues are also solved in parallel, immediately specifying the assembly cycle, defining bottlenecks, and identifying the need to introduce new devices. In general, the time for working out all the tasks arising during the introduction of novelties was significantly reduced.
