Saturn engineering company from Naberezhnye Chelny specialises in the production of building accessories since 1991. The company occupies a leading position in the country in the manufacture of accessories for doors and windows: handles, hinges, opening devices, etc.

In December last year, the company became one of the participants in the Labour Productivity and Employment Support national project. With the support of experts from the Federal Competence Centre (FCC), the company optimised the manufacturing process for door hinges of the STN-0611 type. These hinges are designed for the installation of aluminum profile doors and are the most demanded product of its production line.

The FCC experts, together with company’s employees, succeeded to increase the production output on the line. So, over the past six months, one employee of the company began to produce 29% more sets of hinges, 83 sets instead of 64 per day. At the same time, a set of such fittings is now manufactured in 8 days, or 43% faster. Prior to the project, this process took 2 weeks.

The achieved effect is the result of well-coordinated work of the FCC experts and the employees.

The national project was approved by the May Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2018 and is designed to create conditions for a 5% annual increase in labour productivity throughout the country by 2024.
