7 September 2020, Monday

A ceremony of launching the high-pressure gas pipeline GDS N2 “Yelabuga Central - Nizhnekamskneftekhim” took place today. The event was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Mayor of Nizhnekamsk Aydar Metshin, and other high-ranking guests.

The new high-pressure pipeline from Yelabuga city to Nizhnekamskneftekhim with a length of 30 km was laid in 17 months. The construction cost totalled RUB 4.3 billion including VAT. The commissioning of this gas pipeline became the final stage in a large-scale project of the TAIF Group to improve the reliability of gas supply to the group’s enterprises located in the Nizhnekamsk Industrial Hub.

The new gas pipeline will ensure the supply of the necessary additional volumes of natural gas for the development of enterprises in the Nizhnekamsk Industrial Hub in the amount of up to 4 billion cubic metres per year.

In 2025, compared to 2009, the planned consumption of natural gas by enterprises of the TAIF Group in Nizhnekamsk will almost triple. The commissioning of this pipeline enable the Group to continue the further development and retrofitting of energy, petrochemical and oil refining units located in Nizhnekamsk and, at the same time, by excluding fuel oil, to improve the ecosystems in the Lower Kama National Park and the overall ecology of Nizhnekamsk and Yelabuga districts.
