The largest international event in the Russia’s oil and gas industry, the Tatarstan Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals Forum, will be held on September 6 to 8, 2017 at the Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre. This year the event is timed to the 50th anniversary of Nizhnekamskneftekhim.

More than 200 enterprises from Russia, as well as from CIS and non-CIS countries are expected to take part in this year’s Forum. The exhibitions to be displayed within the framework of the Forum will be located in 3 pavilions and at the outdoor exhibition site with a total area of over 10,000 square metres. The Forum’s business programme with comprise a total of 7 international conferences.

The Forum’s days will also see topical round table discussions, as well as presentations of the latest German technologies and equipment for the petrochemicals sector from the Russian-German Chamber of Foreign Trade. Business meetings of chief technologists, technicians, and power engineers of petrochemicals sector will also take place on September 8.

On September 12 to 14, the Crocus Expo international exhibition centre will host the Import Substitution ‘2017 Forum and Exhibition.

The Import Substitution exhibition is a display for developing potential of domestic enterprises and organisations engaged in the production of competitive import-substituting goods and services, their application in various sectors of the Russian economy and promotion to the international market.

The exhibition will cover virtually all branches of the economy: mechanical engineering, health care, construction, transportation, and agrarian sectors, light industry, consumer goods, computer developments, hi-tech solutions in petrochemical and power industry sectors, etc.

The display is intended to demonstrate the capabilities and achievements of domestic manufacturers in the field of competitive import substitution of goods and services, both through expansion and establishment of own production facilities and through re-orientation to new foreign suppliers and partners, as well as the latest technologies, promising developments, and investment projects that are characteristic for the scientific, engineering and production potential of Russia.

The Russia’s largest truck manufacturer KAMAZ will supply almost 130 vehicles during Phase Two of the UN World Food Programme project for the re-equipment of the truck fleet used for the transportation of humanitarian aid with Russian-made vehicles.

In addition, by the end of 2018, the leader of the Russian trucking industry will ship to Africa 97 KAMAZ trucks and 30 trailers produced by NEFAZ, a subsidiary of the automotive giant in Bashkiria, alongside with spare part kits. All equipment is adapted to heavy-duty operation under full off-road conditions.

In accordance with the strategic partnership agreement between the Russian Federation Government and WFP signed in 2014, Russia implements contributions to the Programme Fund, paying special attention to increasing the vehicle fleet. The automotive equipment of KAMAZ serves as a Russia’s contribution in kind to the UN World Food Programme Fund. Within Phase One of the truck fleet re-equipping project in 2014-2015, KAMAZ has already delivered over 200 vehicles. Drop-side trucks, dump trucks, fuel-servicing trucks, and mobile truck repair shops were sent to South Sudan, Sudan, Ghana, Uganda, and Afghanistan.

Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Tatarstan Sailing Federation under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.

During the event, participants heard a report on implementing the commissions given at the previous meeting and approved the rules for admission to the TSF. In addition, the event comprised the presentation of the Federation’s site and emblem concept, as well as the approval of the annual TSF budget.

It is worth adding that the Tatarstan Sailing Federation is actively working on the development of yachting sport in the region, with its development hubs in Kazan, Laishevo, and Naberezhnye Chelny. Kazan hosts a sailing section at a secondary school and the helmsmen courses.

It is to be reminded that during an extraordinary election conference of the Tatarstan Sailing Federation in March this year, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov was elected Chairman at the Board of Trustees of the Tatarstan Sailing Federation.

Today, the House of Tatarstan Government hosted a meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and top executives leadership of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company headed by its Director General Andrei Kozitsyn. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas for further development of cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company in a number of areas.

The delegation from the Republic of Tatarstan headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov is currently on a working visit to the Irkutsk Region. Traditionally, the President is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov. The delegation also included Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Vasil Shaikhraziev, Aide to the Tatarstan President Radik Gimatdinov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Olesya Baltusova, Deputy Minister of Culture of Tatarstan Svetlana Persova, Head of Zelenodolsk Municipality Alexander Tygin, and representatives of a number of republic’s industrial enterprises.

On August 26, the Tatarstan delegation visited the Irkutsk Aircraft Plant and saw the unit assembly facilities, the assembly line for MS-21 civil aircraft, the assembly workshops for Yak-130 and Su-30SM aircraft, and other workshops.

Also today, representatives of Tatarstan headed by the Tatarstan President studied the experience of the Irkutsk Region in the area of ​​rehabilitation, restoration, and preservation of architectural monuments and cultural heritage properties through the example of the Irkutsk Sloboda (“Quarter 130”).

In addition, within the framework of the working visit, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Irkutsk Region Governor Sergey Levchenko, where the parties discussed the progress in implementing the cooperation agreement between the two regions that was signed this year.

By its Order No. 2789 of 17 August 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation confirmed the inclusion of the Tatarstan Construction Cluster (initiated by Suvar Development) and the Cluster of Construction Technologies and Materials (initiated by Ak Bars Development) on the Federal Register of Industrial Clusters.

Inclusion of the construction clusters on the federal register allows the cluster participants to reimburse up to 50% of their costs associated with the implementation of cooperative (cluster) investment projects aimed at import substitution.

To date, experts from the Ministry of Industry and Trade have been considering applications for the inclusion of three more industrial clusters from Tatarstan on the federal register.

It should be added that the cluster is an association of industrial enterprises with functional and territorial ties, conducting activities in the related industry. The economic effect of creating a cluster suggests strengthening the relations between product manufacturers, increasing the total added value, improving the quality of products, and enhancing a positive impact on the regional economy.

On August 24, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov held a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Tatarstan, SEZ Innopolis, and the Executive Committee of the Laishevsky Municipality of Tatarstan, to discuss the plans for the development of the SEZ Innopolis located in the Laishevsky municipal district.

Gulnara Akhmadeyeva, Acting Director General of SEZ Innopolis spoke about the current state of affairs with site connections to general utilities, the operations of the future customs point, and the overall planning of the territory.

Denis Ismagilov, Head of the Investor Relations Dept. at SEZ Innopolis, briefed the participants on the prospective benefits and working conditions for residents.

During the first half of 2017, Kastamonu transferred over 200 tonnes of waste for recycling. The economic benefits from the secondary resources delivered was about RUB 1.5 million.

In order to promote environmental safety and minimise the negative impact on the environment, new-generation wastewater treatment facilities were installed to ensure a closed process water cycle at the enterprise. The recycling is used to full advantage at the plant involving hundreds of tonnes of waste in the form of cardboard, plastics, and other materials. In addition, Kastamonu took an active part in such environmental projects of WWF Russia as “Earth Overshoot Day”, “Earth Hour”, grant competitions for biosphere reserves and national parks. All these events form a certain environmental culture and develop ideas for resource saving and respect for the natural environment.

In 2017, Kastamonu successfully passed the certification audit of environmental management systems for compliance with the requirements of ISO 14001:2007. The ISO 14001 standard is responsible for setting up the environmental management system at an enterprise. Its essence is minimising the negative impact on the environment and observing the latest international environmental standards.
