24 August 2017, Thursday

During the first half of 2017, Kastamonu transferred over 200 tonnes of waste for recycling. The economic benefits from the secondary resources delivered was about RUB 1.5 million.

In order to promote environmental safety and minimise the negative impact on the environment, new-generation wastewater treatment facilities were installed to ensure a closed process water cycle at the enterprise. The recycling is used to full advantage at the plant involving hundreds of tonnes of waste in the form of cardboard, plastics, and other materials. In addition, Kastamonu took an active part in such environmental projects of WWF Russia as “Earth Overshoot Day”, “Earth Hour”, grant competitions for biosphere reserves and national parks. All these events form a certain environmental culture and develop ideas for resource saving and respect for the natural environment.

In 2017, Kastamonu successfully passed the certification audit of environmental management systems for compliance with the requirements of ISO 14001:2007. The ISO 14001 standard is responsible for setting up the environmental management system at an enterprise. Its essence is minimising the negative impact on the environment and observing the latest international environmental standards.
