Representatives of the SK E&C engineering company from South Korea visited the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan today as part of their visit to Tatarstan. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister Aleksey Savelchev. The parties discussed the company's interest in the implementation of new projects in the republic’s petrochemical industry. “It is Tatarstan that, due to its geopolitical and industrial potential, attracts us as potential investors”, said Seung Soo Lee, company’s Regional Managing Director.

SK E&C provides comprehensive construction services for power plants, civil infrastructure, architecture, and housing industries in South Korea and internationally. The company is engaged in the construction of civil infrastructures, such as railways, roads, harbours, underground spaces, housing complexes, and water and environmental facilities. Today, Deputy Minister German Lerner had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Russian Federation Ihab Nasr. Cooperation between Tatarstan and Egypt is one of the priorities in the foreign economic activities of Tatarstan, great importance is attached to the development of contacts with Egypt within the framework of the Russian-Egyptian relations.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Tatarstan enterprises. The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation with respect to new projects in various industries, as well as plans for the visit of a Tatarstan delegation to Egypt in the spring of this year.
On March 4, 2019, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted an instructive meeting dedicated to the issues of reporting incomes, expenditures, property and property-related liabilities for 2018.
The meeting was attended by public civil servants inscribed on the list of public civil service positions of Tatarstan, holding of which is associated with corruption risks, who are required to provide information about their incomes, expenditures, property and property-related liabilities, as well as information about incomes and expenditures, property and property-related liabilities of their spouses and minor children.
The meeting discussed a list of urgent issues arising from the submission of information, and considered methodological recommendations of the Russian Ministry of Labour and Social Protection on the presentation of income information.
From March 1 to May 30, 2019, regions of the Russian Federation will start to receive applications for the implementation of investment projects within the framework of the Regions for Sustainable Development Annual Public Award contest.
The contest is held by Sberbank of Russia, Bank VTB, Rosselkhozbank, and Bank FC Otkrytie with the support from the Russian Government. Applications are accepted for short-term and long-term investment projects of all industries that are suggested for the implementation in the Russian Federation.

From 26 to 28 February, Kazan hosted, for the fifth time, the Tatarstan International Automotive Forum supported by Automechanika, the leading international exhibition brand in the field of automotive parts, components and equipment. Once again, TIAF confirmed its status of a key event for the automotive component industry in the Volga Region.
The event was organised by the Association of European Businesses (AEB), the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian office of Messe Frankfurt GmbH, and the Kazanskaya Yarmarka.
On Day 1, a plenary session was held within the forum’s programme to discuss the urgent tasks and further development of the automotive industry, the types of government support in the sector and the latest trends in the vehicle construction.
Day 2 was devoted to the procurement and production localisation issues. The second day of the exhibition and forum saw business meetings with Chinese manufacturers and tier 1 suppliers, including about 90 negotiations. Also on February 27, a workshop for car service managers was held within the exhibition’s programme on “Increasing Car Service Sales by at Least 15%: Practical Recipes”.
On Day 3, forum delegates visited the Ford Sollers site in Naberezhnye Chelny.

Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan was visited by representatives of the Rostec Corporation headed by Industrial Director of Rostec Weapons Cluster Sergey Abramov.
During the visit, a joint meeting was organised on the implementation of the T-500 (MV-500) project with the participation of representatives from MVEN. The meeting chaired by Minister Karimov has outlined plans for further full-scale production.
The meeting was also attended by Director General of Romashin RPE Technologiya Andrey Silkin. He presented promising products of the company, which can be of interest for the Tatarstan’s manufacturing industry.
Today, Deputy Minister German Lerner had a meeting with the delegation from the Republic of Tajikistan headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Imomuddin Sattorov. The working meeting was also attended by representatives of Tatarstan’s industrial enterprises, such as Tatneft, KAMAZ, Kazan Giproniiaviaprom, RACIN, Zarnitsa, and others. The meeting discussed the issues of developing bilateral relations and an increase in foreign trade turnover between the republics (in late 2018, the foreign trade turnover amounted to more than US$ 12.5 million). In particular, the discussion dealt with purchase of seed potatoes in Tatarstan, needs of Tajikistan businesses for high-quality fiberglass pipes for organising water supply in rural areas, recommencement of the KAMAZ project, and other issues.
“In the next three years, the economy of our republic is switching over to the industrial-agrarian course. Therefore, the products of the Tatarstan’s mechanical engineering sector and effective technologies in agriculture are of particular interest to us”, Imomuddin Sattorov said.
Also during the visit, the delegation visited the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Eidos-Medicine, the Technopolis Himgrad, the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, and the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Complex.
Today, Albert Karimov had a meeting with Ivan Bortnik, Advisor to the Director General of the Innovation Promotion Foundation. On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Technopark Idea, the Minister was handed a congratulatory letter addressed to Chairman of the Board of Directors Ravil Muratov on behalf of the Director General of the Innovation Promotion Foundation Sergey Polyakov.
“At the very beginning of its way, it was hard to fairly imagine the prospects of the technopark, but now it may be noted that the Technopark Idea has created a solid foundation for the development of new projects”, Advisor Bortnik said.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner took part in a round table discussion with petrochemical sector companies of Bashkortostan, which is being held within the framework of the Russian Industrial Forum. The business forum for cooperation in the automotive industry and automotive component production was held on the opening day of the TIAF 2019 exhibition on the sidelines of the 5th Tatarstan International Automotive Forum, with its main topic being the prospects and trends of innovations in the automotive industry.
In his welcoming speech, Minister Karimov spoke about the progress of the automotive industry in the republic. This industry is the leading branch of the republic’s engineering sector, which largely determines the republic’s economic and social level of development. The republic’s automotive industry accounts for about 10% of the total industrial production in Tatarstan amounting to RUB 272 billion. In addition, the industry creates tens of thousands of jobs in allied branches. Automotive production is carried out in close cooperation with the enterprises of electrical, chemical, light, and other industries.
“A developed infrastructure has been created in the automotive industry of Tatarstan, as well as a system of government support for the sector, and active work is being done with foreign investors to increase the number of hi-tech enterprises. A confirmation of this is the forum, which, I hope, will bring tangible benefits to the process of technical and technological upgrade of the domestic automotive industry and would enhance its competitiveness in the global market, while a frank and stimulating dialogue between the participants would help set the vector of industry’s development and answer many questions”, the Minister said.
