The Interfax international information group annually publishes a Fundamental Efficiency Rating for Russian businesses. The rating is the most widespread tool for assessing the social and environmental responsibility of companies and businesses in municipalities and regions of Russia. The next cycle of comparisons for the country's regions on fundamental efficiency factors in the production of real products and services can be viewed at https://interfax-era.ru/reitingi/2019/reiting-regionov-rossii.
In the calculations, Interfax uses the ratings of the environmental and energy efficiency of businesses in a region for the previous year and development estimates for the infrastructure of cities and municipalities. The specific values of environmental cleanliness and energy intensity of businesses in each region are compared with the level of the best technologies in their respective industries.
The fundamental factors include the energy-resource efficiency of economic activities, the technological efficiency of the equipment used in the production, the municipal infrastructure development, the social responsibility (transparency) of a business, and the overall change in efficiency.
This year’s novelty was adding a criterion for the municipal infrastructure development determined for all the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The infrastructure criterion for regional-level ranking was formed by summarising the estimates of all municipalities in each region of the Federation.
