A pilot project for heating system diagnostics using robots will be implemented in Tatarstan. This was announced at the Tatarstan OG&P Forum’2019, where industrial safety and reliability of operation has become one of the key topics.

Aimed at reducing the risk of energy sector accidents, an agreement was signed in the presence of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov between Tatenergo and Energobezopastnost Research and Engineering Centre, as well as a quadripartite agreement between the Energoprogress Engineering Centre, Energobezopastnost, the St. Petersburg State University, and OOO Device Engineering. Based on these documents, the companies will conduct diagnostics of Tatenergo heating networks using a robotic complex.

A similar technology has been successfully applied in oil industry; however, it will be its first use in the heat supply area. This domestically developed solution enable a heat supply company to schedule repair work in a timely manner and to significantly reduce its costs. For highly deteriorated networks, the use of this technology becomes especially relevant, industry experts say. A pilot project based on this solution is expected to be implemented in Tatarstan with subsequent replication of this experience in other regions of Russia.
