These days mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the legendary small arms designer Mikhail Kalashnikov. It is important to note that this professional holiday appeared in 2010 precisely owing to him. This calendar date is a tribute of great respect and gratitude to people whose work is inseparably associated with the defence industry.

This day unites people of various trades: designers and scientists, assembly masters and production organisers. Professionalism, great diligence and the ability to concentrate all efforts on achieving the set goals – these are the qualities that are inherent in the glorious workers of the industry. Their products serve as the guarantor of peace, stability, and security of the state, strengthening its powers and independence.

There is a peaceful sky above us today, and this is obviously the contribution from veterans of the military-industrial complex, who created a reliable defence shield over the country. I wish you all new professional victories and achievements, good health, peace, prosperity to you and your families!
