On 28 November 2012, within the programme of events of the 8th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee for Economic, Industrial, Scientific, and Technology Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan will host the Second Session of the Joint Working Group for Coordination of Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Czech Republic (further – the Joint Working Group). From the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation, the Session of the Joint Working Group will be attended by Sergey Kiselyov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Czech Republic; Ravil Zaripov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan; Aleksey Turov, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Czech Republic; Zufar Abdulgaleyev, Trade and Economic Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Czech Republic; and top executives from the Tatarstan enterprises. From the Czech Republic, the Session will be attended by Martin Kuba, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Petr Kolář, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Russian Federation; and representatives of the Czech business community.
The Session of the Joint Working Group will discuss the following issues:
• The condition of trade and economic cooperation between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Tatarstan;
• Examination of progress in the implementation of joint Tatarstan-Czech projects;
• Summarising the joint work under the activities of the Joint Working Group and determination of promising fields for further bilateral cooperation.
On 23 November 2012, Kazan hosted the Business Forum with participation by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Akim of the Eastern-Kazakhstan region Berdibek Saparbayev. The Forum was attended by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, and also brought together managers of the republic’s industrial enterprises, representatives of business community and the Tatar diaspora from the Eastern Kazakhstan, and representatives of mass media.
The objective of the Business Forum is to consolidate the cooperation between Tatarstan and Kazakhstan. The Forum was also attended by representatives from the Kazakhstan enterprises of various industries (mechanical engineering, power engineering, construction, chemicals, timber processing, agriculture, education, and services).
On 21 to 22 November 2012, the delegation from the Republic of Lithuania headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Russian Federation Renatas Norkus paid a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan. On 21 November 2012, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted the meeting chaired by the First Deputy of Minister of Industry and Trade Ruslan Kabirov to discuss the issues of mutually beneficial cooperation between Tatarstan and Lithuania.
The programme of the Lithuanian delegation’s visit to Tatarstan also included the meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. The guests visited the IT Park, met with top executives from the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attended the business exchange event, and made a tour of the Universiade Village.
On 20-21 November 2012, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan held the topical round table discussions related to urgent issues of technical regulations in timber processing, food, and light industries, as well as in the field of mechanical engineering and defense industry complex.
The objective of the round table discussions was to promote the activities of experts from the enterprises engaged in the issues of technical regulations and to enhance the interaction between the authorities and real sector of the economy in order to successfully implement the technical regulation reform for the benefit of the republic’s manufacturers.
On 20 November 2012, Naberezhnye Chelny hosted the meeting related to the development of children’s and teenagers’ technical art in the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov, heads of ministries, agencies and municipalities, and top executives from industrial enterprises and republic’s educational establishments.
Ravil Zaripov noted the need to create up-to-date centres and laboratories for children’s and teenagers’ technical art being based on the advanced technologies and investment projects being implemented in the Republic of Tatarstan.
On 20 November 2012, the IT Park of Naberezhnye Chelny held the meeting entitled “Introduction of SAP Solutions and Potentialities of Up-to-Date Information Technologies into the Management Systems of Enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan”. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov and brought together senior officials from the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, Naberezhnye Chelny Municipality, executives of industrial enterprises, representatives of IT Parks of Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny and SAP Company.
On 20 November 2012, within the joint work of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, industrial enterprises and organisations engaged in propagating a man of labour and popularising technician and engineering jobs, as well as within the work of the Interdepartmental Working Group on the introduction of Lean Production technologies in the republic, the Flagman Project for work performance improvement was launched at the production site of Yelabuga Plant. The presentation of the innovative start-up Flagman Project was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov, representatives of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, Yelabuga Administration, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Naberezhnye Chelny and Zakamsky Region, staff of OAO PO ElAZ, Lean trainers from Lean Coaching Company, and students from establishments of higher and secondary technical education of Yelabuga.
Following the results of the Republic’s Professional Skills Contest for the best sewer held on 17 November 2012 among the enterprises representing the garment industry of the Republic of Tatarstan, Svetlana Bogatova (OOO Merkury) ranked 1st followed by Fialka Gazizova (OOO GIARA) and Albina Andreyeva (OAO Kukmor Sewing Factory) closing the trio of winners.
On 15 November 2012, the seminar meeting held by OAO KETZ was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Gulnara Akhmadeyeva, top executives from the Association of Enterprises and Entrepreneurs of Tatarstan, and 50 chief engineers (technical directors) from 33 industrial enterprises representing the republic’s mechanical engineering, aircraft engineering, and petrochemical clusters.
Within the seminar meeting, its participants studied the expertise of OAO KETZ in the implementation of the Lean Production technology and visited the enterprise’s production premises (design bureau, tool workshop, printed circuit preparation and production department, machining workshops, and assembly and acceptance department).
In early 2012, in order to enhance the efficiency of production processes, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan supported the creation of the Russia-Germany Ines Systems Enterprise. Carnet GMBH, a developer and system integrator of software for Volkswagen plants in Europe, stands as the German partner.
On 17 November 2012, the republic holds the Professional Skills Contest for the best sewer among the enterprises representing the garment industry of the Republic of Tatarstan. The main objective of the Contest is to promote the blue-collar jobs and to disseminate the best practices of the industry’s workers.
