From 5 June to 6 June 2014, Kazan hosted the International Conference on Prospects of Russian-German Cooperation in Railway Engineering. The organisers of the conference are the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, Union of Industries of Railway Equipment Non-Profit Partnership, and German Railway Industry Association (VDB).
During the Conference, its participants discussed major areas of cooperation involving exchange of advanced innovative experience of small and medium-sized railway engineering businesses in Germany and Russia.
On 6 June 2014, the Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Tatarstan Government and X5 Retail Group at the Strategic Forum during KazanSummit 2014.
In the presence of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, the document was signed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and Director General Stephan DuCharme.

On 5 June 2014, International Conference on Prospects of Russian-German Cooperation in Railway Engineering began in Kazan. The organisers of the conference are the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, Union of Industries of Railway Equipment Non-Profit Partnership, and German Railway Industry Association (VDB).
Within the framework of the first conference day, cooperation exchange and exhibition of Tatarstan industrial enterprises were held.
On 6 June 2014, the Conference continues its work.
During the Conference, its participants will discuss major areas of cooperation involving exchange of advanced innovative experience of small and medium-sized railway engineering businesses in Germany and Russia.
Russia’s Minister of Defence Sergey Shoygu during his working trip to Kazan attended the workshops of KAPO-Kompozit and Gorbunov Aviation Production Association, the subsidiary of OAO Tupolev. The head of Defence Ministry was accompanied by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov.

On 4 June 2014, Kazan hosted the official opening ceremony of the monument dedicated to Andrei Tupolev, a distinguished Soviet aircraft designer. The opening ceremony was attended today by Russia’s Minister of Defence Sergey Shoygu, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, Head of United Aircraft Corporation Mikhail Pogosyan, and Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin.
To the strains of the military orchestra, distinguished guests and participants of the ceremony have laid flowers to the monument.
On 3 June 2014, Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre hosted the opening ceremony of the 15th Specialized Exhibition of achievements in wood-processing industry entitled ‘Woodworking’ and the 16th International Specialized Exhibition entitled ‘Intermebel’.
The ceremony was attended by officials of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Tatarstan Ministry of Forestry, Kazan Mayor’s Office, and representatives of OAO TsentrLesEkspo, Association of Organisations and Enterprises in Woodworking Machine-Building, Wooden House Building Association, Associations of Furniture and Woodworking enterprises of Tatarstan, and officials of the Kazan Branch of the Belarus Embassy in the Russian Federation.

  On 3 June 2014, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov attended the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Director General of IKEA MOS Armin Mikaeli.
President Minnikhanov emphasised the significance of IKEA for Kazan as a large taxpayer and employer.
During the meeting, parties discussed issues of IKEA’s activities in Tatarstan, particularly issues of transport accessibility of MEGA Kazan Shopping Mall.
On 3 June 2014, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov attended the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation Udayanga Weeratunga.
Tatarstan President emphasised that trade and economy relations between Tatarstan and Sri Lanka are underdeveloped, and the visit of the Ambassador can give a serious impetus to their development.

On 30 May 2014, the city of Mersin in Turkey hosted the Tatarstan-Turkish Business Forum with the participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Turkey Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekchi.

Within the framework of Tatarstan-Turkish Business Forum, parties signed several bilateral agreements. The signing ceremony was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Turkey Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekchi.

The All-Russia Projects Competition in Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving ENES will take place from 1 June to 31 October 2014.

The competition is held under the auspices of Russia’s Ministry of Energy aimed to stimulate projects at energy efficiency and to promote energy saving life style among the public.
