On 8 September 2016, within the Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Forum, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov chaired the meeting “Tatarstan-Made Plastics and Compound Materials: Import Substitution in the Automotive Industry”.
The meeting was attended by representatives of leading enterprises in the automotive industry and petrochemical sector of Tatarstan and Russia, such as JV Ford Sollers, PAO Kamaz, Avtovaz-Renault-Nissan Purchasing Organisation, PAO Kazanorgsintez, PAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim, AO Kvart, OOO SafPlast, OOO Tatkhimplast, and others.
During the meeting, parties discussed topical issues connected with the extended use of Tatarstan-made petrochemicals (plastics and compound materials) in the automotive industry.
On 8 September 2016, Technopolis Himgrad hosted the ceremony of launching three high technology production facilities with the participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, and federal and republic’s top officials.
The first one is Air Liquide, the station to manufacture industrial gases and gas mixes. The mission of the enterprise is to provide Kazan and Tatarstan enterprises with its products. The French resident company of Technopolis Himrad is the world leader in the manufacture of industrial gases.
On 8 September 2016, the Tatarstan House of Government hosted the meeting of the Organising Committee for preparations to and holding the 1st Composite Battle World Cup Kazan 2016.
The contest among young experts in composite materials was first held last year in Moscow during the Open Innovation Forum. This year, the competition is acquiring an international status and will be held in Kazan from 26 to 29 October 2016.
The championship, according to the preliminary data, will be attended by about 400 guests comprising participants, mentors and team supporters. The registration deadline is 20 September 2016 meaning that the number of teams can grow.
On 8 September 2016, Kazan hosted an official opening ceremony of a new office building for the Energoprogress Engineering Centre, with the participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
The event was also attended by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov; Aide to the Tatarstan President Albert Nafigin; Tatarstan Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Communal Services Irek Faizullin; Tatarstan Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Farid Abdulganiyev; Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin; Director General of Generiruyushchaya (Generating) Company Rauzil Khaziyev; Director General of Setevaya (Grid) Company Ilshat Fardiyev, etc.
During his visit to premises of the new engineering centre, Rustam Minnikhanov was presented latest developments in the integrated approaches to solving tasks in ensuring sustainable operation of energy systems.
Then, Rustam Minnikhanov delivered awards of the Republic of Tatarstan and Letters of Gratitude by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan to a number of energy workers for their contribution to the development of Tatarstan energy sector.
On 7 September 2016, Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre hosted two round table discussions within the Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Forum. The round table discussions were dedicated to using Tatarstan-made products in construction sector and road facilities.
They were attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Rinat Sabirov, Tatarstan Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Communal Services Irek Faizullin, Tatarstan Minister of Transport and Roads Lenar Safin, top executives of Tatarstan major petrochemical enterprises, principals of Tatarstan universities, etc.
The participants of the first round table discussions considered a number of projects on developing and using products of the petrochemical sector in construction. The biggest part of the projects was oriented on solving tasks of import substitution.
The next round table discussions were dedicated to issues of using petrochemicals in road construction.
According to top officials of the Tatarstan Ministry of Transport and Roads, petrochemicals play an important role in road facilities. First of all, it concerns the bitumen.
On 7 September 2016, Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre hosted the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and President of Yokogawa Electric Corporation Takashi Nishijima within the Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Forum. From the Tatarstan side the meeting was attended by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Informatisation and Communication Roman Shaykhutdinov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Science Engel Fattakhov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Rinat Sabirov, Chief Executive of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina, representatives of Tatarstan major petrochemical enterprises, and leaders of Tatarstan universities.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Takashi Nishijima for his participation in the Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Forum. He noted that relations between Tatarstan and Yokogawa are developing systematically for several years.
Takashi Nishijima, in turn, highly appreciated the level or organising the petrochemical forum in Kazan. He also thanked leaders of Tatarstan for their consonant support in implementing projects in Tatarstan.
In the end of the meeting, an Agreement on cooperation between the Tatarstan Ministry of Informatisation and Communication and OOO Yokogawa Electric CIS was signed in the presence of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
The plenary session of the International Research and Applied Conference “Innovations in Exploration and Development of Oil and Gas Deposits” was held within the Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Forum. Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov became a moderator of the session.
“Since 1993, this platform was traditionally a venue for a meaningful dialogue between experts in petrochemicals. This year, participants of the forum comprise 600 delegates from oil companies and scientific communities of Russia, USA, Ukraine, India, Germany, and Columbia. I am convinced that the high level of confidence achieved among scientists, geologists, and oil industry workers will help implement joint business projects”, said Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

The opening ceremony was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of the Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Turkmenistan Minister of Economy and Development Batyr Bazarov, First Deputy Akim of Atyrau Oblast of Kazakhstan Gumar Dyusembayev, President of the Russian Union of Oil and Gas Producers Gennady Shmal, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Director General of PAO Tatneft Nail Maganov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Shafagat Takhautdinov, Director General of OAO TAIF Albert Shigabutdinov, etc.
The forum is dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of Valentin Shashin, Soviet statesperson, long-term leader of USSR oil industry and Director of Tatneft. The forum is attended by representatives of 216 enterprises from 19 countries.
Prior to the ceremony, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov inspected products of special-purpose equipment plant, including unique drilling rigs and a new Euro-5 standard Kamaz engine.
Further, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and his accompanying persons made tour of the exposition. Display stands of Tatneft and Tagres were among the first ones to inspect.
From 7 to 9 September 2016, Kazan will host the Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Forum under the auspices of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and Tatarstan Government.
Organisers of the forum are the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, OAO Tatneftekhiminvest-holding, PAO Tatneft, OAO TAIF, ZAO Neftekonsortsium, Tatarstan Academy of Sciences, and Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre.
The official opening ceremony and the Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Forum 2016 will be attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov emphases that the Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Forum is an important discussion platform on issues of developing the petrochemical industry of Tatarstan and Russia.
During the forum, the following events will be held: three thematic specialised exhibitions, six research and applied conferences, including the International Exhibition “Oil, Gas, Petrochemicals 2016”, international research and applied conferences “Innovations in Exploration and Development of Oil and Gas Deposits”, “Implementation of Innovations in Gas and Petrochemicals under Contemporary Conditions”, “Topical Issues of Geodesy and Geographic Information Systems”, and International Metrology Conference “Topical Issues of Metrological Assurance of Discharge and Amount Measurements of Liquids and Gases”.
It is scheduled to hold round table discussions on using petrochemicals produced in Tatarstan in capital and road construction and round table discussions with participation of experts from petrochemical enterprises.
On 6 September 2016, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov held the meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Tatarstan Investment and Venture Fund. Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov also took part in the meeting.
The agenda included issues regarding the current activities of the fund. Members of the Supervisory Board listened to information from the Fund top officials on the progress in implementing the HYPERLINK programme (http://ivf.tatarstan.ru/rus/frp.htm) being implemented by the Tatarstan Investment and Venture Fund jointly with the Russian Industry Development Fund since June 2016.
