On 5 September 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the delegation from China headed by Mayor of People's Government of Harbin Song Xibin.
The meeting was held in the Kazan Kremlin and from the Tatarstan side was attended by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Radik Gimatdinov, and top officials of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.
In his welcoming speech, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan highly appreciates the current high level of relations with China and attaches great importance to the expansion of comprehensive ties aimed at strengthening friendship and cooperation between Russia and China.
Rustam Minnikhanov added that Tatarstan is willing to become a launching pad for entering the Russian market by SMEs of Harbin.
Song Xibin, in turn, thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for hearty welcome by the Tatarstan side and high level of organising the visit of Chinese delegation to Kazan. According to him, Harbin is greatly interested in the interaction with Tatarstan.
On 5 September 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of North Korea to Russia Kim Yong Jae.
Rustam Minnikhanov reminded about his visit to North Korea in March 2014. It was the visit during which the Tatarstan delegation participated in a number of official meetings with leaders of the country and made tours of several major North Korea-based enterprises.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, reciprocal visits of delegations and support of business contacts would result in further strengthening and developing friendly ties between North Korea and Tatarstan within the framework of the Russian-North Korean relations.
On 5 September 2016, Tatar-Inform Information Agency hosted a press conference dedicated to holding the All-Russian Festival #VmesteYarche (Brighter Together).
The mission of the festival is promoting lean attitude to environment among population and implementing up-to-date energy saving technologies.
The festival will start on 2 September 2016 in Vladivostok within the entertainment programme of the Eastern Economic Forum and will be held in regions from 3 to 11 September 2016.
The Republic of Tatarstan supported the idea to hold the Festival of Energy Saving. The main events will be held in Kazan on 10 September 2016 on the area near the Kazan Family Centre (4, Sibgat Khakim St.).
On 4 September 2016, Almetyevsk hosted the official event dedicated to the Oil and Gas Industry Workers’ Day that was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
In his speech, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated current and retired workers of oil and gas enterprises with their professional holiday and the City Day.
According to Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, launching a delayed coker unit and achieving the maximum refining depth at TANECO Oil Refining and Petrochemical Complex are important events for the country’s oil refining industry. In addition, high results in the growth of products output and production process efficiency were achieved at petrochemical, energy and retail network enterprises of Tatneft.
On 3 September 2016, Interim Prime Minister of Spain Mariano Rajoy paid a short visit to Tatarstan.
In the Kazan International Airport, the delegation from Spain headed by its Interim Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy was welcomed by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov.
Albert Karimov briefed delegation members on industrial and investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan.
On 2 September 2016, the meeting in the videoconference format was held between Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and Tatarstan representatives abroad and in Russian entities.
The participants of the meeting represented Tatarstan ministries, agencies, and non-governmental organisations.
During the meeting, the participants discussed results of activities of Tatarstan representative offices in Russia and abroad during the July-August 2016 and considered issues of their current activities. They also have specified tasks and future action plans for Tatarstan representative offices in developing trade, economic and investment cooperation and in working with compatriots.
On 2 September 2016, the meeting was held between Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and representatives of Fastems Oy Ab (Finland) and OOO Pumori North-West (Saint-Petersburg).
The meeting was attended by Vice President of Finland-based Fastems Oy Ab Seppo Lehtonen, Director General of OOO Pumori North-West Sergey Sukhov, Regional Representative of OOO Pumori North-West Vladimir Mikhailov, and representatives of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade.
During the meeting, parties were presented the potential of Fastems Oy Ab. They also considered projects implemented by the company in Russia and Tatarstan, discussed issues of cooperation development between Fastems Oy Ab and machine-building enterprises of Tatarstan within the road map that is being elaborated now.
Representatives of Fastems Oy Ab and OOO Pumori North-West thanked top officials of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade for organising the visit programme during which they attended the following industrial enterprises: Gorbunov Kazan Aviation Plant, KAPO-Composite, Simonov Design Bureau, Kazan Giproniiaviaprom, Zelenodolsk Shipyard, and ICL-KME.
They informed about the results of the meetings that were held with top executives and technical experts of Tatarstan enterprises in integrating technology solutions of Fastems into the production processes of Tatarstan enterprises.
On 2 September 2016, the meeting was held between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to the Russian Federation Zvi Heifetz and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. The meeting took place in the Tatarstan House of Government and was attended by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov.
During the meeting, parties discussed promising areas for cooperation between Israel and Tatarstan within the Russian-Israeli relations.
Rustam Minnikhanov briefed the guest on economic, investment and tourism potential of the republic. There are a number of areas in which we could build mutually beneficial ties, noted the Tatarstan President. Particularly he specified the following areas: petrochemicals, health care, agriculture, culture, etc.
On 1 September 2016, Tukayevsky District hosted the official ceremony of commissioning a new power facility of OAO Setevaya (Grid) Company: 220 kV Begishevo substation.
The event was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Head of Nizhnekamsk District Aydar Metshin, Director General of OAO Setevaya (Grid) Company Ilshat Fardiyev, top officials of Tatarstan ministries and agencies, and representatives of various production facilities.
The main objective of building a new substation is to increase the power supply reliability of petrochemical facilities in the Nizhnekamsk power district.
Rustam Minnikhanov and his accompanying delegation learnt about infrastructure of the new power facility.
During the tour, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov was informed that to date 220 kV Begishevo substation is staffed with highly qualified personnel; the substation is equipped with computerised technology process control system and computerised instrumentation system for power energy metering.
On 1 September 2016, within his working trip to Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov reviewed the progress of the joint project between PAO Kamaz and Daimler on the construction of a plant to produce cab frames SFTP.
Rustam Minnikhanov was accompanied by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Tatarstan Minister of Economy Artyom Zdunov, and Director General of PAO Kamaz Sergey Kogogin.
The enterprise is being built at production facilities of the vehicle plant. The finished products will be delivered both to the main assembly line of the major heavy-duty truck producer and to the assembly plant of Mercedes-Benz trucks.
