The delegation of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) headed by its Director of Business Development Egor Zaostrovtsev is currently visiting the Republic of Tatarstan. The delegation is composed of representatives of thirteen organisations engaged in various spheres, such as McDonald's, Lynden, Amrustrans, Praxair, Edwar International, Baxter, Antal, Tulpar, Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners, Philip Morris, Dupont, ANCOR Holding, Deseret International Charities, and Mars LLC.

 

Today, on February 15, the delegation visited the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade. During the meeting, the guests thanked the republic for the excellent organisation of their visit and held a brief presentation of the companies. In particular, the representatives explained what companies they are represented and what are their interests in Tatarstan.

 

The visit to the Ministry by Russia’s representatives of major US companies was a continuation of their two-day business programme in Tatarstan: the day before they visited the SEZ Alabuga and held a meeting of the AmCham Business Club. In addition, a meeting at the Tatarstan Ministry of Health is also scheduled for February 15.

On February 15, within the framework of the Volga Agroindustrial Forum, the Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre hosted a meeting of the working group on Tatarstan consumer market on the topic “Cooperation of commodity producers and outlet chains in Tatarstan with ANO Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo)”.

 

The meeting was attended by Deputy Head of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organisation Roskachestvo Maria Sapuntsova, Tatarstan First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Nikolai Titov, Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Almaz Khusainov, representatives of republic’s outlet chains and commodity producers.

 

During the event, the presentation of the Russian Quality System took place. Deputy Head of Roskachestvo Maria Sapuntsova reported about the measures contributing to the promotion of high-quality goods of Russian origin with the Russia’s Quality Mark.

On February 14, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov had a meeting with the delegation of the Japan-based KITZ led by Group’s Head of International Business Takayoshi Saito.

 

The event was also attended by Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Valeyev, Head of International Relations Department at the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade Aidar Akhtareev, CEO of Invero Advisors Co Tamerlan Abdikeyev, Deputy Director of the Tatarstan Investment and Venture Fund Fanis Khakimullin, etc.

 

In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed the potential of the metal shutoff valves market, as well as the opportunities of establishing local production facilities.

 

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants considered various options for the further development of relations. In particular, the Japanese company's management plans to visit SEZ Alabuga in order to study the preferences for its residents and the infrastructure built for the enterprises in the SEZ.

On February 13, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic held a meeting between Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Valeyev and Redenex representatives headed by its Director General Olga Isakova. The event was also attended by representatives of SEZ Innopolis, IT-Park, Kazan Expo, ministries and agencies.

 

During the meeting, a presentation was held of the International Congress and Exhibition “IoT World Russia: International Summit on the Internet of Things”. In her speech, Olga Isakova noted that the Internet of Things (IoT) and network-based smart solutions will radically transform all areas of activities, and the introduction of the IoT digital technology leads to increasing the competitiveness of industries, regions, and countries.

 

The discussions on this subject will continue. Today, a meeting is scheduled between representatives of the company with Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Information and Communications Roman Shaikhutdinov, as well as a visit to the SEZ Innopolis. As a result of the discussions, a decision will be taken concerning the possible holding of this event.

On 15 February 2017, a meeting of the working group on Tatarstan consumer market will be held on the topic “Cooperation of commodity producers and outlet chains in Tatarstan with ANO Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo)” within the framework of the Volga Agroindustrial Forum (Kama Hall of Pavilion 1 at Kazanskaya Yarmarka).

 

The meeting will be attended by heads of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture and Food, representatives of Roskachestvo, business leaders, manufacturers, and retailers. The event will comprise a presentation of the Russian Quality System, enterprises will hear about the measures contributing to the promotion of high-quality goods of Russian origin with the Russia’s Quality Mark.

 

Roskachestvo develops high-quality standards; organises product tests; arranges voluntary certification of products within the voluntary certification process under the Russian Quality System and, following the certification results, grants the right for an applicant to use the Russia’s Quality Mark for the certified products; carries out the activities aimed at rendering assistance to consumers in choosing products.

KAMAZ (part of the Rostec Corporation) announced its production and financial results for 2016. Against the background of the difficult situation in the Russian economy, KAMAZ increased its revenues to RUB 127.28 billion, some 31% more than in 2015. The company's success resulted in the net profit of RUB 339 million against two billion rouble losses in 2015.

 

In 2016, KAMAZ has exceeded its business plan target with total sales reaching 34,300 trucks, an increase by 21% as compared to 2015. Throughout the year, the production reengineering programmes and the development programmes for new model series were continued. As a result, a total of RUB 6.8 billion were spent for the renovation and the development of new technologies (up by 2% y-o-y).

 

In 2017, the company plans to spend about RUB 20 billion for its development. Among the priority areas are the production of a new family of straight-six engines, construction of a new SFTP cabin frame plant, as well as the work on the new-generation trucks and the issues of import substitution. As to its core production, KAMAZ is expected to manufacture 36,000 trucks in 2017.

Tatneft employees once again became the winners of the All-Russian Engineer of the Year Contest that is annually held by the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Associations (RUSEA) and the International Union of Scientific and Engineering Associations with the participation of the Prokhorov Academy of Engineering Sciences and the Interregional Foundation to Promote Progress in Science and Technology.

 

These awards delivered to Tatneft engineers have once again confirmed their high level of professionalism and the relevance of the scientific and technology potential of the company.

 

The annual All-Russian engineer contest is organised to enhance the prestige of labour and professionalism of engineering staff, identify the elite of the Russia’s body of engineers, build up interest in engineering professions among young people, as well as to promote the achievements and expertise of the best engineers in Russia and to create a databank of the country's best engineers. The winners are recorded in the Russia’s Register of Professional Engineers.

On 10 February 2017, the conference room of the Ministry of Industry and Trade saw an extended final meeting “Operating Results of the Tatarstan Centre for Energy Saving Technologies under the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers in 2016 and Tasks for the Next Period”.

 

The meeting was chaired by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov. The Presidium comprised Head of Industry Department of the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers German Faskhiev and Director of Tatarstan Centre for Energy Saving Technologies under the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers Yevgeny Martynov. The meeting was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, municipal administrations, universities, enterprises and organisations of the Republic of Tatarstan.

 

Report by the Centre’s Director Yevgeny Martynov was devoted to the results of the Centre’s performance within the framework of supporting the scientific and analytical activities of state authorities, enterprises, institutions and organisations of the republic in the sphere of energy saving activities, improving energy and resource efficiency, introducing energy saving technologies, increasing productivity and competitive ability, as well as to promising areas of activities for the next period.

The industrial production output in Tatarstan exceeded the figures of 2015 and amounted to RUB 1,966 billion, with the industrial production index of 103.6%. This was announced today by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov during the Joint Final Collegium of the Tatarstan Ministry of Economy and the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade. The event was held in KSK KFU UNICS.

 

The event was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, President of United Aircraft Corporation Yuri Slyusar, Deputy Chairman of Vnesheconombank Irina Makieva, CEO of the Monotowns Development Fund Ilya Krivogov, head of the Intellectual Property Federal Service Grigory Ivliev, Managing Director of Russian Exports Centre Andrey Polyakov, Deputy Director General for Investment of Rostec Corporation Dmitry Lelikov, and others.

 

In his report, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov noted that, according to the Strategy 2030, Tatarstan to this date should become a globally competitive sustainable region. Particular attention was paid to the R&D activities to be carried out on the shop floor.

 

According to the Tatarstan Minister of Economy Artem Zdunov, the gross regional product of Tatarstan in 2016 was estimated at RUB 1.9441 trillion or 102.5% y-o-y in comparable. The main contributors to the economic growth were industrial production, agriculture, and construction sector.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting today with Acting Head of the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kazan Alibeman Eghbali Zarch. The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov. The meeting took place at the Tatarstan House of Government.

 

We are sincerely grateful to the leaders of Iran for the decision taken back in 2007. I do hope that the Consulate General headed by you will also successfully contribute to the strengthening of relations between our countries”, - said Rustam Minnikhanov to Alibeman Eghbali Zarch.

 

Ten years ago, the opening of the Consulate General of Iran in the capital of Tatarstan took place, which was an important step in the further development of our relations, said President of Tatarstan.

 

Tatarstan President highly appreciated the level of bilateral cooperation between Tatarstan and Iran in the economic, political, and humanitarian spheres, which is carried out within the framework of the Russian-Iranian relations.
