United Arab Emirates, Poland, and Germany are the most promising countries for the development of export activities. Such a conclusion was made by the REC analysts with the aid of its unique ranking based on 14 different indicators.

According to the updated data for 2015 and 2016, the most promising direction for the development of non-oil exports is the United Arab Emirates. At the end of 2016, the trade turnover between the Russian Federation and the UAE amounted to USD 1.244 billion. It is worth noting that 63.6% of the Russian exports to the UAE were accounted for non-primary non-energy products.

The ranking of countries’ prospects for non-oil exports is a unique development of the REC, which is calculated using 14 different indicators for 134 countries around the world and is updated regularly.

These figures reflect the prospects of Russia’s exports from different sides: the volumes and trends of imports, the economic development outlook, customs regulations, transport availability, and other factors. The ranking is based on the data from the national foreign trade statistics and international organisations (IMF, WTO, World Bank, UNCTAD) processed under a special methodology using unique competencies of the REC.
