On November 22, the Zelenodolsk Design Office celebrated 70 years since its foundation.
The Gorky Centre for Culture and Folk Arts hosted a science and technology conference on the topic “Promising Areas for Shipbuilding Development in the 2020s”. The guests could visit an exhibition of products manufactured by enterprises incorporated into the Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation, and see a festive concert with the participation of performing groups from the republic.
The honorary attendees to the events include Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Ildar Mingaleyev, Director General of the Ak Bars Holding Ivan Yegorov, Director General of the Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation Renat Mistakhov, Director General of the Zelenodolsk Design Bureau Yevgeny Zhirkov, and others.
The Zelenodolsk Design Office is the only designer of ships, boats, and special purpose vessels in Tatarstan and over the years of its activities has developed more than twenty basic projects for the Navy and other military and security forces. Based on Office’s designs, a variety of vessels were built at the shipyards of St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Khabarovsk, Kiev, Feodosia, Kerch, Sretensk, and Zelenodolsk.

In the Zelenodolsk Industrial Park, construction was launched of the Ozon Group’s logistics hub and the warehouse complex of Wildberries.
Ozon’s logistics hub is scheduled to open next year. The facility will create opportunities for storage and processing of 7 million goods. After its launch, residents of Kazan and other republic’s settlements will be able to use fast delivery, while local manufacturers can sell their products throughout Russia and abroad.
The first phase of the Wildberries’ warehouse complex is getting ready for launch in the first half of 2020. The total area of the new complex will be about 100,000 square metres, the total investment in the project is RUB 5.5 billion. In addition, there will be more than 4,000 new jobs in Tatarstan.
Another important event in the territory of the Zelenodolsk Industrial Park was the opening of a new distribution centre intended for the X5 Retail Group. The capacities of the new centre make it possible to handle up to 5,000 tonnes of cargoes a day and serve 1,200 trade outlets. The centre will provide products for stores both in Tatarstan and in Udmurtia, Mari El, and Chuvashia.
The opening ceremonies were attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Head of the Zelenodolsk District Executive Committee Mikhail Afanasyev, and others.

Today, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted a meeting of the working group for e-commerce and related infrastructure development in Tatarstan.
The subject of discussion at the meeting was a draft programme to attract national manufacturers to the OZON Group online platform.
The company’s representative Sergey Kuchushev who was present at the meeting, spoke about some of the features of the OZON platform, the problems of online trading and the factors hindering its growth, as well as the opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses to enter the online sites.
The working group for e-commerce and related infrastructure development in Tatarstan was established in pursuance of the instructions by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Tatarstan Government and the OZON Group. This agreement envisages the implementation of the OZON investment project for the construction of a logistics centre in the Zelenodolsk Industrial Site.
Today, the Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipyard hosted a ceremony of launching the second serial 1st-rank border patrol ship of Project 22100 which was given the name of “Anadyr”.
The event was attended by representatives of the Border Guard of the Russian Federal Security Service, officials of the Zelenodolsk Municipality, top executives of the Ak Bars Holding Company, the Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation, as well as representatives of designer and contracting organisations.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of the Tatarstan Government: “I am sure that ‘Anadyr’ will serve well and reliably guard the borders of our country in the Far East”.
The border guard vessels (patrol boats) of the Okean project developed by the Almaz Central Maritime Design Bureau (St. Petersburg) are the first ships in the contemporary history of Russia designed entirely for the requirements of maritime border guards, are multifunctional, have high combat potential and are capable of participating in full-scale rescue operations. In terms of technical characteristics, they have no equals in the world.
On June 11, the Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipyard saw a ceremony of launching the eighth small rocket ship of Project 21631 (developed by the Zelenodolsk Design Office), which was given the name of “Ingushetia”. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin, Head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defence, the Russian Navy, officials of the Zelenodolsk Municipality, heads of Ak Bars Holding Company, Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation, as well as representatives of designer and contracting organisations.
The small missile ships of Project 21631, being built at the shipyard since 2010 for the Russian Navy, are multi-purpose river-sea vessels equipped with the most advanced missile, artillery, anti-sabotage, AA, and radio-electronic weapons. The ships are dedicated to the protection and defence of national economic zones.
Seven ships of this project, the lead ship Grad Sviyazhsk and the follow-on ships Uglich, Velikiy Ustyug, Zelenyy Dol, Serpukhov, Vyshniy Volochek, and Orekhovo-Zuyevo are already assigned to the Russian Navy. Small rocket ship Zelenyy Dol was recognised as the best small missile ship in the Russian Navy by winning a prize of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy in the missile firing and was also named as the best ship in the Black Sea Fleet.
