Last week, an extended meeting in the video conference format was held on the implementation of the national project titled “Labour Productivity and Employment Support”. The meeting was attended by Minister Karimov.

In his report, he noted that within the implementation framework of the Labour Productivity and Employment Support project the major enterprises of Tatarstan will ensure a labour productivity growth of 5% each year by 2024.

“It is expected that there will be 351 major enterprises in the republic ensuring a stable growth of labour productivity. They will become a locomotive to which other republic’s enterprises should join”, the minister explained.

“The growth in labour productivity of medium-sized and large businesses in all basic non-resource sectors of the Tatarstan’s economy should be at least 5% per year by 2024. The entire national project is divided into three parts: support for, and increase in, labour productivity; support for employment and increase in labour market efficiency; and targeted support for raising labour productivity in enterprises”, said Albert Karimov.

For a number of enterprises interested in this work, a number of support measures and additional services are suggested. To participate in the project, basic pilot enterprises will be selected. These are leading enterprises, which by their example would show that all indicators are achievable and the programme really works.
