On June 28, the Kosmos Concert Hall in Moscow saw a ceremonial event commemorating the 85th anniversary of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation Materials” (VIAM) under the State Scientific Centre of the Russian Federation. The event was attended, among others, by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.
The emergence and development of a new subject area – aircraft materials science – is inextricably linked with the history of VIAM. The results of VIAM’s fundamental and applied research enabled creating and mastering new materials that meet the highest requirements for strength, service life, and reliability. Many of them still have no equals in the world. For 85 years, VIAM has maintained its intellectual and technical potential. Experimental and pilot facilities, laboratories equipped with the latest technology help to combine tradition and innovation, ahead of time and competitors.
Honored guests at the event include Deputy Chairman of the Military-Industrial Commission Board Oleg Bochkarev, State Duma deputies Vladimir Gutenev and Nikolai Gonchar, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Oleg Bocharov, etc.
