On June 5, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a meeting between Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Russian Federation Jean-Arthur Régibeau.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of cooperation between Tatarstan and Belgium within the framework of the Russian-Belgian relations, the expansion of the range and amounts of mutual trade. In addition, guests were given a presentation of the present-day Tatarstan and briefed on republic’s special economic zones, industrial parks, priority development areas, and enterprises of Tatarstan.
During the conversation, it was also noted that the devaluation of the rouble resulted in lower production costs in Russia compared to European and some Asian countries, which makes the localisation of Belgian enterprises in Tatarstan even more profitable.
At the end of the meeting, Albert Karimov stressed that Tatarstan is always open for new projects and is prepared to support its partners in implementing them.
