Co-chair meeting of Volga-Yangtze Joint Working Group held in Ufa

Today in Ufa, representatives of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade took part in the meeting of the co-chairs of the Joint Working Group for Cooperation in the Trade, Economic and Humanitarian Sphere between the regions of the Volga Federal District and the provinces in the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River: Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the Volga Federal District Aleksey Sukhov and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Li Huilai.

Within the framework of the event, the parties discussed the preparations to the next meeting of the Council in the Volga-Yangtze format (June, Anhui Province, PRC) and the agreements reached during the first Council’s meeting in Ulyanovsk, as well as the proposals for further implementation of the joint bilateral cooperation projects.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the opportunity of signing framework agreements on trade, economic, scientific, technology, and cultural cooperation within the second session of the Volga-Yangtze Council in the presence of Mikhail Babich, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the Volga Federal District, and Yang Jiechi, State Councillor of the People's Republic of China.

The meeting was concluded with the signing of the Protocol on Interaction between the two countries.
